I have a feeling 'herding' is now pastoral'. And I don't know about the US, but here, 'non-sporting' is 'utility' and 'sporting' is 'gundog'.
If you want an up to date version of all registered/accepted breeds, try here:
http://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/item/435
They've even got breeds so new there's no official breed standard yet, and if people want to know what each breed is like, there are links there. Very useful.
And wiki is good for horse breeds: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_horse_breeds |

Over here in the US, it's still Non-Sporting, Sporting, and Herding. UK and US Kennel Clubs are very different...they recognize different breeds and have different group names. So it might be worth marking breeds that only the US recognizes and breeds only the UK recognizes ^_~ |

There's a slight problem with a few dogs tho such as the clumber spaniel which in England is a clumber hound. Same dog just a different variation of the name. There are a couple others but at this moment the names escape me..I know the clumber is one for sure that's got dual nomenclature. |

The Jack Russel Terrier is now the Parson Terrier, but only if the dog is regesterd with the AKC. |
