The Story Of Me - A Real Poem By Marlee

My REAL Life In a Poem:

She smiled at him from across the room
He look up and met her gaze
She did not know that 2 years later, the gaze would hit a tomb

The wedding was small
just family and friends
thats all

They didn't want children
neither he or she
but later that changed
the feeling in she

She longed for a child, on of her own
to love and to hold
it would be all their own

But he got real sick
they couldn't try
for the child she longed for
until he was back

He later got well
and they tried for their first
she conceived her first, it was real swell

After a few months of carring a child
she got a call from the state
her hustband had been killed

The truck was in a wreck
what a jumbled mess
but she knew, he would be fine
because the place he was going was better than heck

Six months later
the labor pains started
the baby was coming
how could she manage?

A babe in arms
her husband gone
but some how she did it
and raise a fine son

The son grew in stature
just like his dad
and when he got home
his life pleased his parents

He wrapped his arms around them
and theirs around him
but no tears were shed
'cause now they were one

The only thing I changed was that the baby was a boy because daughter was to long and son was just right.
