*noggin bump*
Your prize....
The money or the bag?
The money: $1,000,000 SBF cash
The bag: An end/end animal....Not saying what or how old it is (though I would never give away something about to retire, rest assured!) |

Is it a Whippet? I'm not too proficient with dogs myself, so I'm kinda guessing. The picture I've seen somewhere before though... |

Omigosh, I love dogs.
Greyhound?
Can't do the bonus point; I know what they're bred for, but not where they're from. Always been terrible at that.
But for the bonus bonus point, how about...
They are very sensitive to cold and heat; they're indoor dogs. They are said to be the fastest dog breed, able to run at 45 miles per hour. They come in a multitude of colors, not just grey. |

Sorry Sandie, not a Whippet. Fire got it right, it is indeed a very lovely brindle Greyhound.
I love GH's
The bonus bonus point answers....Weren't the specific answers I was looking for, but they are GH facts so I'll award you 1 point for trying.
You are welcome to try again
Like I've stated in the rules....I don't mind if you look an answer up |

They are thought to have originally descended from the Arabian Sloughi and bred for hunting deer and wild boar |

Okay then, I'll give a go at the bonus point (which, sadly, I did have to look up!). They came from either Egypt or England, depending on who you talk to. They were bred for hunting wild game, such as deer and hare.
Another go at the bonus bonus, again not from memory...
They have an unusual blood chemistry; they have high levels of red blood cells. Greyhounds cannot metabolize barbiturate-based anesthesia as other breeds can because they have lower amounts of oxidative enzymes in their livers. A Greyhound's heart is also unique, being larger on radiographs than the heart of a dog of similar body stature. Some Greyhounds also have a murmur, which is caused by the massive amount of blood pumped and not by heart malfunction. Greyhounds also have some unusual skin disorders. |

Yup, you both got the first one correct - There is alot of disbute over where they originally came from, I would have accepted both Asia (Egypt, Persia etc) or Europe. I lean towards Europe, myself lol.
Original purpose was as a hunting dog. Would have also accepted coursing/racing.
The 3 specific breed traits I was looking for were: large heart, extremely flexible spine (like a cheetahs) and the highest percentage of fast-twitch muscles of any breed. Also would have accepted their unique double suspension gallop, 30 different coat colours, sensitivity to insecticides, metabolism issues...
So 1 point for Trin, and 2 points for Fire. Well done Next one will be up in a sec... |

Is that a Kuvasz? If so, the country of origin is Hungary. |

It's a Maremma Sheepdog. They were bred to guard livestock against predators such as wolves and cats.
From what I read they're from Italy. |

Sorry Trin, Fire got it right...It's a Maremma.
I specifically chose that pic to be sneaky lol, because its not as fluffy as Maremma's usually are and it does indeed look more like its cousin the Kuvasz......
They come from Italy, yes |
