Can't bid?

I am trying to bid 10 mil on this animal:

and I get this message in red:

You can't bid a negative amount on an animal. Nor can you bid on animals with low ID's and low-numbered player IDs, or animals with bidding blocked.

I think that animal has been released or else gone to Florida due to age.

Firebird has it listed for bid

Well, when I click to view the owner, it won't let me see the owner, yet I can see Firebird's farm when I click their profile. I think Misty is correct, that it's been released.
