the text will be something like "Through Love We Grow"

its a foal in his stall, and behind him is the older version of himself.

so...?

Trent - I love the idea. =) What program are you working with? Since it can fade, I'm going to assume it can do all that GIMP can do, but the tools might be called something different.

1) The foal appears to be missing two hooves. To solve that, use the Free Select tool while adding to the current selection, or use the Quick Mask (Shift+Q on GIMP), THEN cut. Or, you can cut and use anti-erase. Whichever method you prefer. If he was in grass or something, clone of the other hooves and blend it in to fit that leg and the lighting.

2) Smudge the edges of the horses; it makes them look more like they're actually in the picture, and can get rid of pieces of the background you might have missed.

3) The foal either has no tail or a very, very faint one. Perhaps paint one on?

4) If he's growing through love, perhaps keep the rest of the image black and white and have that one stall full of color? Or maybe have some flowers or plants or something in the stall, representing life/love? Given that you're showing the future, I don't think the image has to be wholly realistic. If you like it with the emphasis on the horses, it works very well that way, too. Just something to consider. =)

Overall, though, good job!

Thanks.

The foal was standing in long grass, so the feet are awkward.

The foal is standing at an angle that you cant see the tail.

Clone the hooves and draw the tail. If you're not sure how, there are numerous tutorials about that for most programs.

Love the idea Trent! Very Happy I don't see much, maybe fit in the text somewhere! I got some random things I did when I was bored. All was drawn and colored by me.

This one was just about a saying I've heard about and decided to kind of due the literal meaning of it. Laughing

I was doing this as a request and nice thing to my brother, it represents his favorite character in RPG's kind of. Awkward thing is, that there is a movie trilogy series about a wolf-dog named Balto, one of my favorites actually. Laughing

I did this the most recent because I was thinking about bow and arrows, and well got the urge to do this, I know, completely stupid and random. Embarassed

This was originally a way to practice splashes, but I started to really like it so I worked on it more, and as it turns out, the splashes are my least favorite part of the whole thing and you can barely even tell they're there... Irony FTW.

But anyway, the mane and tail *were* good until it was flattened... I'll work on that. This is not anywhere near being done and I'd like to add to the feel of magical realism, so any suggestions in that direction would be fabulous. =)

I have a set of brushes for the splashes themselves, edited them a bit and lowered the layer opacity, and used the smudge tool for ripples. Might not be the best method. -shrug- I was experimenting.

Nice! The horse looks a bit pixelated, but other than that, I like it.
