|
|
Just browsing some old threads and discovered that once upon a time tokens were being sold for about 200k each. And people were complaining about the price back then too.
I was musing on where all this inflation came from. While most of us earn money through taking exams with high prestige I think the bulk of it is from events. Create an even with 10mil prize money and it only costs you 3.3mil. That's 6 mil that appears magically out of nowhere.
So is the solution to create less events or put up with inflation? |

Way back when I first started....I made a "fortune" selling tokens at 100k each....
Nowdays, I can earn the same amount in a day without actively trying.....
But shelling out 5 mil per token still makes me wince, despite the amount of cash I've managed to stuff under my virtual mattress....
It's only going to get worse as more players have larger sums to splash around.....Animal sales too...200 mil for a horse that was considered 'expensive' at 20 mil a year ago..... |

I agree. I have seen that a lot of events have gotten very costly. |

It's not so much that the price of tokens is crazy... there's a heck of a lot more playcash floating around than there probably was back then. That's what inflation is.
5 mil is spare change to a lot of us, now :-/ Ferox is right. It's a combination of the event system and the fact that there aren't any economical 'sinks.' Ribbons, changing enclosure names and goodies are about the only things that drain the playcash floating around. It isn't nearly enough. |
