MMmmm.... I did it to myself again. Why ohh why do I do this??
So yesterday, I found a young seagull near my house. He/She was injured and I had done this before, so I grabbed a towel and carefully picked him/her up. George, as I call it now, is the smallest seagull I have ever held. George was also very malnourished from not being able to fly off and get food. I know that I should have left it, and let nature take it's course, but I couldn't stand to watch it suffer.
I tried to find a wildlife rehabilitator last night to see what I could do, but I couldn't get in touch with anyone. I also looked it up online, and apparently, I'm doing everything right. I have George in a low-traffic, quiet, room temp. room, with water and a can of (catfood? - they told me to). I have everything down, but I need to find something else for George to eat while I wait for a chance to bring him/her to the vet. Does anyone have any personal experience with these kind of birds??

I don't have much experience with wild birds, but there are a few things you could try. Dog food that's been wet down, most wild birds will take to it quickly. Or maybe since they eat fish naturally, maybe some fresh fish if you have access to it, though I would make sure it's not refrigerated, room temperature would probably be better...

Mmm... I bet room temperature fish smells wonderful. xD
Sorry, I honestly have no idea. I know a lot of cat food does have fish in it. I think it is amazing that you took this into your own hands, and I wish you the best of luck! |

Bratterratt - Yup I have room temperature fish, because I happen to live about two miles away from a bait shop, and they promised me all of their dead/dying fish - yummmyyyy.... George is greatly enjoying the fish and I hope that that will in turn help to get her weight up.
Bezzella - Well, I guess that the cat food was good for the time being, but not as a constant source of food. Plus, the smell was absolutely horrible... Why thank you for the luck!!
