Ok, I've decided since I've learned about rabbits and goats for 6 years now, I've decided to learn about horses, I'd like to study (i forget what catagory they are but they are appaloosa, paint horse ect.) If you know of any websites, good books, magazines from the USA, any horse anatomy stuff, or anything else you know.
Thanx,

What about them do you want to study? Riding, care, genetics, conformation, nutrition, different breeds ect? One of my favorite horse books is The Ultimate Book of the Horse and Rider by Judith Draper, Debby Sly and Sarah Muir. It has lots of beautiful pictures and info about over a hundred different breeds, basics of english riding, proper nutrition, tack, grooming, and descriptions of different equestrian sports. There are lots of other good ones, what specifically do you want to read about? If you are interested in novels, you can ask your local librarian for help, I'm sure they would have many good suggestions. I can also suggest some of my favorite ones if you want :]
If you want to study Paints and Appaloosas specifically, you can go to the breed associations websites. http://www.apha.com/ for paint horses and http://www.appaloosa.com/ for appys. I'm sure there are also people there that can answer any specific questions you have and help you get involved with the breed.
I can help you find the information you need, just pm me and I'll be happy to help guide you. |

Im pretty sure appaloosas and pamaminos are stock breeds, breeds use for ranch work. A good way to get into horse is to take a summer camp, thats how i got into horses. |

Palomino is actually a color, not a breed, but you can register your horse as a color breed... it gets confusing. Appaloosa's are a breed though, as far as I know. So a palomino can be any type of horse, but Appaloosa's are usually have stock type conformation.

Ok!!! Thnx for the info guys!!!
Queso: I want to learn probably all those bring on the challenges!!! I've got nothing to do this summer so what do I have to loose if I study all summer?
Koneko: Thanx for the photo I was looking for one!!! I'm trying to get better at line art and that should help with adding details and if i want to do horse 4-H
Bratterratt: Palimio is just a color? I didn't know that, well you know what they say you learn something new everyday, and i didn't learn anything at school so I'm guessing that's what it is lol. I thought it was just a breed because of the rabbit breed you know. Palamino Rabbits are a meat breed so yeah. |

When I was little I loved the encyclopedia of horses and ponies. It is very informational and you can learn about each breed and many aspects of horses. |
