I've gotten two bids on two of my best animals, one is a fully trained AE and the other is an almost finished double endangered, I'm getting ridiculous bids of like 100k on them. I know a lot of you are new and I'm sorry to tell you this but your not going to get that good of an animal for 100k. |

I had a bid of about 100 on an AE yesterday I understand that new players don't know correct pricing, but really? It's a bit frustrating. |

I have gotten a bid of $1 on my AE/AE, and it is working on getting trained. This is a little frustrating |

Maybe someone should post a rough pricing list somewhere where most of the newbies would be likely to see it. Not that you can put an exact pricing on any animal but maybe just a good range that one could start off the bidding at so they have a general idea of what to aim for.
I can't say I see the point of getting frustrated though..
What I mean is simply click the decline button and put it out of your mind. That's what I do. but I do see where you all are coming from. I just shake my head in relative depression to think of a $1 bid on an AE. haha
happy trails everyone!

I would LOVE something like this, even a very rough guideline. I know i am shooting in the dark when it comes to bids, at the same time i have recieved a few ridiculously low bids
I TRY to see what comparable animlas are priced at, or what a stud fee would be.
Honestly, A lot of the animals I would love are just way out of my price range right now (and many thanks to those of you who did accept my bids) |

generaly AE is out of prize range when new, as they generaly range from 10 mill up to over 50 mill sometimes (depending age and rarity of the specific AE)
i think those new members biding though low as 1 or 100, are generaly new members so new, they are not on community, and dont even understand the meaning of the rarity range...they just see an animal they like and bid, not understanding what they are biding on
and i dont think a 1000 pricelists will help with this best thing to do is block bids on animals you dont intend to sell, and decline unresonable bids
we all get some of these, its nothing new, and its not likely to go away either i think |

I've had these frustrating bids lately too, they come and go but I agree with Tani. Considering the number of players on this game the small amount of them that actually participate on the community boards I doubt it would be helpful. Most new people don't make it over to the community part and look at everything.
The best way I've found is to block bids on animals. In fact I think all my higher AE's have bids blocked on them because of this and when I get a bid it just lets me know when I missed one. |

Lots of people are bidding zero on my best animals (exotic and threatened!) just because i used to offer 1 free pig to each new person or 1 free rabbit, now all my animals have zero! Im very upset i don't like it! Thats why i blocked my best cat from bids and i agree with keema most people i know that go on here spend like ten minutes on here they do exams and leave, so they probly won't c it, but i think its good to hav this here 4 the people who do that and go on the boards. |

i can't be bothered sorting through all my animals to block bids on some but not others. I tend to just leave it and only when i get a bid on an animal i don't want to sell do I block bids on it. when i inevitably get those bids that are ridiculously low I just ignore then. complaining never achieves anything. i know the people who make these bids are typically new players who don't know any better. normally when i decline a bid i message the bidder to say why. if it was because it was too low, i suggest a typical price range for an animal similar to what they bidded on. if it was because i don't wish to sell the animal i usually don't bother, unless i'm willing to breed a similar animal for them.
you shouldn't let this bother you so much. it really is quite minor.

Yes, this IS annoying, and it's definitely increased.
Most of the time, when I purchase a new animal or when a baby is born on my farm, I automatically click the "block bids" button, but I don't always remember. I used to message the bidder back, but honestly, I just delete the bids now. If the person persists, I message them as tactfully as I can, even though it IS irritating.
I know a general price list has been propsed before, but I think it might get kinda difficult, as there are differences in value between rarities between species (an End. color in a horse or myth would be more valuable than it would be in a shorter-lived animal, most of the time), which would mean that EVERY species would have to get its own estimated value... with 250-some species, that's a fair amount of work. The other thing that might make a price list difficult is the fluctuation in prices - some animals are more popular at some times, then they become more common and lose value. It's a great idea in theory, but I think we might have a hard time in the long run.
I'm not usually the "downer" in the crowd, but I think this list might be a lot more difficult to manage than it initially appears. Someone would have to work their tush off to maintain it!

OK, what about a message to each new person, like Hi, welcome to SBF - please read through the info posts, and get a feel for price ranges before you bid on others animals....
maybe not QUITE that blunt
I know Im still in sticker shock sometimes
kind of an electronic welcome wagon? |

I agree, I used to message new people and tell them if they need help or something to look at the boards and stuff but they kinda ignore it, probly because they don't know me, idk but i know something has got to be done its quite annoying because u spend so much money and time on an animal and people bid like nothing on it, then it just makes u feel like u've done nothing, i know i don't really own any good animals but training makes them pretty good and i train a lot! Plus i spent all my money on animals and i feel kinda bad for newbies and accept and then the next day i go to show it and its gone! well you get the point |

Like I said. just an idea. Just something to get people's minds off complaining like we all do rather frequently (me included)... |
