How to submit your photo:
- Post on this form AND PM your entry/s to SisKate using this format:
Your Player Name:
Breyer/s Name/s in photo:
Breed/s:
Discipline Shown:
Short Description/Other Info:
Picture Link or Direct Image:
- Check back often for current info! SisKate will also let you know via PM of anything else you need to know.
Rules:
- Limit 1 (one) separate entry per player
- No limit to how many horses are in the photo
- Must be a realistic discipline
- You may name your Breyer anything you like. If it comes with a name when you bought it and you decided to change it, that is fine, or if you kept it, that is fine.
- You don't have to put tack or a rider on your horse to enter. If you do use tack, it has to be actually on the horse properly when you take the picture. Although a GREAT idea, I'm afraid I can't take entries with tack photoshopped on. I might consider it in the future however!
- Breyer Horses Only (of any scale) although Peter Stones are also accepted to some extent.
- ALL entries must be submitted by February 15th 2009, no exceptions, sorry.
- You may use Original Finish or Custom Made horses as desired.
- No Stealing of others' photography
- You may use Photo bucket (ect.) to make the contrast and lighting brighter however, you may NOT use additional backgrounds or technology other than what is on your camera.
- Pictures are accepted in black and white or color.
- SisKate will be the judge, and will not be allowed to enter any of her own horses
- No rude comments about others work
- Prizes will be awarded to 3rd place and two runners-up (not sure what prizes are yet, but they will be good ones, no worries)
- You can make your own props! No, you don’t have to have real Breyer brand props if you don’t want to.
- SisKate has the right to close the show due to lack of entries at any given time. There must be at least 5 entries to have the competition go on.
- No cost to player to enter!
- Good sportsmanship towards SisKate, other players, and everyone else always!
- Have fun! (of course)
Judging Criteria
- This is not a popularity contest.
- SisKate will judge based on quality of the horse models and props
- SisKate will judge based on how realistic the scene is
- SisKate will judge based on correct placement and use of props (saddles on correctly, appropriate discipline accessories, ect.)
- SisKate will judge based on quality of the photo (visibility, good lighting, ect.)
- SisKate will judge based on the effort put into the photo!

EXAMPLES OF PHOTOS: New!
Okay, so I got "Newsworthy" (I renamed him "Canadian Mist" or "April
for short) for Christmas and I decided I should do a photo shoot, and remembered this post, and so I have a few attempts with him. I made the jump gates myself (cardboard) and clipped a few twigs of the ol' xmas tree and viola! Sorry, no tack or rider because mine are just not nice enough. This is a last-minute attempt, so this is just a basic, nothing super fancy. I'll show you a few different ways you can take pics:
To the side from an angle in black and white (simple background):
http://s424.photobucket.com/albums/pp326/SisKate/?action=view¤t=HorseDecember08011.jpg
This picture has been through a simple b/w wash and it is a little bit too blurry. Not very interesting background, but this is acceptable and still not drastically changed so it looks nothing like the original. It wouldn't be my first choice to submit.
To the side close up, with minor color alterations (more complex background):
http://s424.photobucket.com/albums/pp326/SisKate/?action=view¤t=HorseDecember08012.jpg
This photo is nicer and better quality. It has nice colors, and a slightly natural orange tint to it that makes it warm and interesting. I even blurred the edges and took the picture a little closer to the model for added affect. The background is more complex and this picture turned out really nice!
To the side but slightly above with no color alterations:

This photo would win out of the three. I would also judge it pretty dang close to the second one, because they are both really nice. However, this one has more scene to it, and what I mean by this is that it is not as close up and you can see more of what is also going on around the horse. The horse is not as blurry but the edges still have the slight blur to them for affect and the background matches the main picture. This is truly a very nice turnout, and I would place this photo first out of the three!

EXAMPLE OF HOW TO ENTER IN THE BREYER PHOTO SHOW:
Your Player Name: SisKate
Breyer/s Name/s in photo: Canadian Mist "April"
Breed/s: Welsh Pony
Discipline Shown: Hunter/Jumper (Short Sturrip Pony)
Short Description/Other Info: This is a picture of April competing at the A Rated level in Short Sturrip Pony. She is jumping a wooden brown oxer. I like the way that the horse is not overjumping the jump and is in a good position. Thank you!

Fire Opals entry looks really realistic, I feel bad for the poor horse but the look on the horses face is pure terror. Nice job! |

I live in Oregon, too! I thought so by the looks of your entry background. Cool, another SBF'er who lives nearby!
