Still a bit confused...

So, having read through a good chunk of the guides available and poking around the various help threads, I'm beginning to get the hang of things... but I'm still a bit lost on how to proceed...

I understand that having a number of different species = higher prestige, but does it make a difference if they are different species within the same group (i.e. Rodents) or not?

Or to put things perhaps more plainly... Having started with the Rodent Cage, should I concentrate on collecting the various types of rodents or would I be better off moving up to the next building and just snagging the rescue pair for each (as funds allow, of course)?

I would suggest you do both! Get the free recue pairs for as many species as you can because that will greatly increase your presteige and how much money you get per exam. Then you can go back and get different variations of the species you want to focus on, because having different variations (and colors and details as well) will help build up you presteige and the money you get each exam too.
