~September 2008 Newsletter~

Wow! School is already starting and I am busy with real horses and so it is so hard to be keeping up with *|DR2| as well. I have recently been adding my K9 Kennel back into buisness and am slowly becoming more interested in them as well as my ever-growing horses! We have been welcoming many new arrivals in my pasture, Big Dog Stables, and our fall foals are underway. Horse sales season is going on now and SBF seems to be suffering a little through some overbreeding and and token sales issues. I recon that selling and buying things on SBF might be a little tough for my ranch right now. I have a few studs up on the market right now, I think 1 Miniature and a Sheltland Pony. I will be putting an ABSP up soon,but not on the marketplace. Read more about this under my "American Breed Stock Paint Pony" section of this newsletter. I hopefully will get everything settles soon and will come back more often updating my farm frequently.

Horses!Horses!Horses!

As many of my friends on here know, my first horse on this game, Silrandra's Misty Rose, is nearing her time. She is now nearing 23 years of age, and I have been trying to decide how she will live her last few weeks in the game. I am either thinking Bratterratt's Retirement or just staying at my farm, or maybe at a loyal friends' ranch. I am also needing to replace her. If someone has a comment or question, or a replacement for "Misty", please send me a PM regarding her.

I am going to be starting the annual SisKate's Fall Series horse shows this month. There will be two different divisions this year. Division A will be for lower statted and more common animals, and Division B will be for higher stats and rarities. Again, in every event in the series, the prize will be $1 Million, and $10 Million for the end-of-the-series show. It's going to be a blast!

Lately, I've been considering making a club. I think a 4H club (for all animals) would be great, or maybe a Pony Club or breed club would we fun as well? Or maybe a dog club, the AKC? Ideas or questions welcome! Please PM on clubs for more.

AE Animals

A lot of players are aware that I am desperately collecting as many tokens as I can get my hands on for my Welsh Pony breed. I have about 230 currently, and am in need of about 1,740 more to reach my goal of my first AE breed! I have given up too many times on my first AE creation, but I won't this time. It has been a sucsess so far, and have had many donators, and people on the list for whole and sterile foals! If you want to be one of these folks, please check out my form in "Looking For Something" for more details on my creation. PM me for even more info/quesions regarding "Welsh Pony - AE Animals".

I have been trying to get a Pintabian (my favorite breed) on here for some time now. Leopardstorm and I had agreed on one for $30 Million a while back, and she had bred the foal already and everything. I have emailed her a few weeks ago telling her I'd buy the foal, and she told me she'd accept the bid right away. It has been a few weeks, and I am going to just have to keep looking Does anyone have a Pintabian they would be willing to sell to me for around the same price, above or below that range? Please PM if you are serious about helping me find a Pintabian horse.

BASIC NEWS

Cleanout Sale is underway! I am selling a few horses that are either doubles or unneeded horses in my pasture that need new jobs. I will be posting names and links for these guys on a form in "Animals For Sale/Stud/Service" within a few days, so look for it there.

I have noticed there are a few horse breeds that have been severely overbred. Odinsdottir created the Shagya Arabian (Endangered), and the horse should be considered overpopulated with the way people breed them. There are way too many, and I am ashamed of people that overbreed others' creations carelessly, with ANY breed or species. I would really love to do something about this, does anyone agree? Please PM me about this if you have a comment about Overpopulated Animals in this game. On a side note, I would like to thank A.L. Aljan's Ethical Breeders Association club. I wish people would all join this club and take it seriously. Then this problem wouldn't be a problem

~ AMERICAN BREED STOCK PAINT PONY ~

My creation of the ABSP has been going succsessfully and I am going to be changing it a little, and giving some others an opportunity to have one of their own. I am going to be putting my horse *|DR2| Impressive @ The Bar up for private stud soon. I will post a form in Animals For Sale/Stud/Serivice holding 6 Slots for breeding. I will limit 2 Slots per player to ensure no overbreeding, and I will have them create a contract to send their brood over (their choice of broodmare) and I will breed them as soon as the contract is accepted. Players will get to keep the foal, of course. Prices will be negotioable, depending on the turnout of the foal. Since the thread isn't up yet, you can reserve your slots now! Please PM me with the subject as "ABSP Stud" and reserve your slot/s as soon as you like. Note: When the form goes up, you can reserve your spots as early as a week in advance, only if the current week's slots are full.

There are currently about 30 ABSP's in the game. I am a little unseasy at the number, but I can see that I have a majority, and about 5 other players have the ABSP as well. Thanks to all who own one of these horses for not overbreeding! They are pretty evenly distributed, and I am very pleased at this. Thanks to all who do responsibly when breeding.

My Photobucket account is working out great and I have made some art that I'm pretty proud of! I started my art thread a few weeks ago and it hasn't been a huge sucsess. I started out with just horse art, but figured doing every animal for art might give my buisniness a "boost". I had only 5 slots at first, assuming I would have numerous orders, but I didn't, so currently, there's no limit on orders. I will not give up! If it means waiting forever, I will For the next week, I will make every order FREE! I also have SBF Yellow, if you would like your background to match the page. I also have hundreds of other colors, and effects. I can take specific orders, too! Please check out my thread in "Artist Alley."

Please post your personal 'newsletter' on your farm page, not here where you're using chicken chatter for advertising sales, trades/looking for and other items that belong in other places. You can post a link her to your page so people can view the newsletter if you want but we don't need hundreds of players suddenly posting personal newsletters and that's what we'll end up with along with things in this letter belonging somewhere else. I'm locking this. I'll move it once you tell me you have reposted it on your own farms public page or in 2 days, whichever comes first.
