All the studs are automatically taken off the market after 30 days. So after that time the owner has to redo the stud for each animal. This was put into effect since we still had studs available from players that hadn't been on sbf for months and the studs were over used since no exams were taken so they could go to florida. This is likely why there is a lack of studs. I know I sometimes forget to redo my studs for the market.

As for people being gone... yeah kind of. A lot seem to be quiting lately. And auctions.. I stopped doing auctions for my animals because no one was willing to pay decent prices. Prices have been driven down because people leave and sell everything cheap. I just wait for those interested enough to ask me anymore.

Yeah I would agree on the auction thing, but it's like everyone thinks that if its not extremely rare or higher then it's crap. So nothing sells. And it's like I am trying to make money but theres only so much you can do.

I rarely sell and next to never offer an animals for stud (if I do it's private and no money is exchanged).

I try to keep as large a variety as possible on my farm, from overpopulated to AE. If you do so and event (you get points even if you don't place high for money wins) your prestige will go up and that's the way to make money. I make over 200k an exam, each night I get 26 of them and I'm on the low end of the exam scale. One does not need to sell animals to make money.

Keeping animals exactly the same as others on your farm will drive down your prestige though so if you're breeding and have offspring that are the same as one of the parents or another on your account your prestige goes down/less money per exam.

As for studs on the market? Most all studs up before were from players not still playing. It's why the 30 days remove from market was placed. There's also a new club for breeding ethics and players not wanted to keep public studs.

All animals have a value, and that value is determined by many things, game derived rarety being only one. The rarety based on numbers is a separate issue altogether, and relies on people NOT studding out their animals to keep those numbers down.

Tell me: would you pay as much for an END colour AE variety animal with 250+ specimens in the game.... as you would for an END colour AE variety with only 10 in the game?

When you consider that it costs real money to create the new varieties, what purpose is served by studding the high end animals out? It cheapens them drastically.

That said, I do understand the dilemma of replacing animals that get too old. Sometimes a little communication goes a long way.

yeah money can be made from exams i am far from the most senior player on here yet i am among the 15 players who have most money in the game, and make over 100k per exam

as is i am trying to balance out number of animals as more variation creats higher value, but more animals also means less exams

also raising prestige through events help

auctions no point its hopeless to get any money, i put animals up for sale if i have them and are willing to sell, then put an auction sign on them, and such get private bids to consider, if i dont like em i will wait months to sell an animal if nesicary for a right price

and other then that, yeah overpopulating animals dont help, so far more often do i release missbreeds cause most my animals are rare now of the type i know their creators wouldnt want spread further, and really the money i can make from selling them even if the creator didnt mind is just not worth it as they already worth too little, 1 mill is pocket money by now

if its to pull any weigth it need to be like 10 mill at least

as for studs i have em up in the spicies i have less rare animals like birds in new zealand and the like, but yeah otherwise not

its the only way to prevent overbreeding which hurts everyone keeping a variation

thanks everyone. I have to say i havnt been on in a while and now i have the problem that alot of my animals are very old so i need to rebuild and learn how to make more out of my farm lol. I don't really want to release my duplicate older animals now either because they have great stats. I didn't sell them earlier because i didnt really understand the damage it could do to prestige. I don't have tons of duplicates though....just a few doubles but everything you said was helpful Very Happy
