Heya folks! It occured to me that amid all this purchasing of art, there is no longer a thread to show off your Breyer customizations. And well...now there is.
Anyone out there do the micro-mini's? I love them, but I'm not that good yet. This is my pathetic attempt:
...Pretty sad, eh? But it's uber-fun, so I don't care.
Anyone else feel like showing off their masterpieces? |

I could probably flood this thread with my repainted models, but if y'all don't mind I'm glad to share.
This is an Appy Sporthorse I did.

I like your horse, shadow! It's pretty. I have repainted several Mini-Whinnies, but I don't usually repaint so I don't have any real good ones. Any others you have repainted?

Here are a couple micro minis that I've painted recently.
A black overo Paint mare named EDZ Shadaroba
A snowflake Appy stallion named EDZ Bull Whip

Quite a few, but like I said I don't want to overpower or flood the thread. I've done just about all sizes as far as I know. Here's a couple bigger ones I painted, though.
This Hartland Mare I made a Cleveland Bay mare named EDZ Londonderry
Here is a Standardbred Pacer named EDZ Edge Of Night
And this one I just have to share. He's EDZ Up N Awey, a silver dapple black Morgan stally.

Lol, I've got tons more, I just haven't taken pictures of them yet. I'll make a point to do that, I've got a couple favorites that I'd really like to share.
And those are great, EDZ! I love the App sporthorse. |

You use an airbrush, huh, Jinx?
Wow, that SM Andy mold has been out for 20 years already? I really feel old now cause I remember when it was a new mold, but doesn't seem that long ago.
I either use spray acrylics on the larger molds or hand paint with acryllics. Then I use a satin finish sealer. |

Wow, you are really good then. The shading looks airbrushed. I didn't mean that to sound like a bad thing, though. |

Thank you.
I prefer the longer work time of oils and the blending I get using them. |

Jinxx! Those horsies are amazing! WOW. I love all of them. Do you use airbrush? My favroite is Cash. Is there anymore that you have done? Keep up the great work. They look awesome and very realistic. Your Paint Horses are outstanding along with your color choice on each mold. Good job!!

I don't use an airbrush. I paint by hand using oils. I do use acrylics to do details like eyes, hooves, whites and flesh tone in appropriate places on the white markings (it's there but the pics don't pick it up). I've done others. Been painting models in oil paints for over 20 years. I'm no expert. I paint when I get the urge to and paint what I like, whether realistic or fantasy (as attested by some of the purple stablemates gracing my collection, or the purple one with fish on both hips. ) I customize a little (move body parts) but not much. I've added horns for unicorns and have several dragonhorses in the works (they've been in progress for more than 6 years). Need the umph to work on them. Got spoiled when my sis lived close enough that we could work together every day on our crafts and models together. Now she's moved several hours away and I have a lot of trouble sitting down to work on those things. I do have several stablemates that are in progress repaints, some that just need eyes/hooves finished and the like. I no longer have the micro minis I have done or had in progress. As with the stablemates there were realistic as well as fantasy, from just fantasy colors to dragonhorses and unicorns, butterfly horses and pegasus'. |
