We came back from vaca and my ca was smelling... gross, so I looked at her bottom and she had this huge clump of poo mixed in with a bunch of fur. We can take it out, and if we leave it in... Anyways, all the vets in the area are closed. Anyone out there know what to do? We were thinking of giving her a bath, but she is a longhaired cat and I have no idea how to even wash her:\ |

Well, we bathed her. It was interesting. We wrapped her upper body in a towel and dipped her lower body into a bucket, then cut off the pooXD She's still a bit damp now... but poo free! She also has a lump in her stomach-ish area that I'm a bit concerned about. I can't bear to be torn from my cat yet:[ However, she IS 16 years old-.- |

Examine her stomach closely. It may just be a festered clump of matted hair or it could be more serious in either case try to find a vet soon. |

It's not matted fur, it's obviously under the skin:[ We are thinking its either a hernia*sp?* or tumor. |

The lump could be anything, get her to a vet for them to check it out. Lumps are very common in older animals.
I have two 17yr old cats and both have small cysts that the vets don't think are serious enough to risk an op. Tessa has had one of the lumps for about 6 years and it's never grown, got worse in any way or bothered her at all. We do keep an eye on it just in case though.
She also had a lump that came up last year and was more aggressive than the others so despite her age we did risk the op to get it removed and she has made a full recovery and no more have grown in its place.
nine times out of ten these things can just be left but there's always the one in ten chance that it's something more so always worth getting it checked out.
Whatever it is I hope she's ok, give her a cuddle from me. |

She's snoring in the corner right now<3
The lum is about an inch in diameter, if size means anything. My mom said we were goig to take her to the vet a week ago, but it still hasnt happened-.- |
