Sarah, are you a member of the Ethical Breeders Association? If not, I'd love to have you read our page and think about joining...

I applied already, just a while before I posted this. While on the search for good cat studs, I often run across some that are not so favorable:[ |

No:[ I just looked at a farm with the Sphynx as a cat's mate:[
Is there anything that can be immediately done???
I don't think this person will end up with a Sphynx, but I'll keep an eye on the farm.
[E] I just did a Sphynx pop. count. I got 308. Is this bad or regular?

the reason it migth be many cats pregnant is maybe to increase the chanse of geting 1 cat thats end or AE
i generaly built my rarities up by breeding upwards, and often with multiple breedings before hiting the AE, its whats done with the left over unneeded offsprings that makes the difference in the long run
are they released, sterilised, sold corectly, or just dumped on the market way underprice
breeding many cats in itself is not a crime, its what you do with the ones you dont need that counts, like say even if you dont sell cats of a variation, its bad even so if you keep 50 copies of them laying around, as it gives a wrongfull picture of the rarity of the breed, say there is 55 animals in the breed, it may sound like a high number and estimated you make think its not as valuable as a breed with 20 animals
however part of the value come from how hard it is to get the animal, so if the 55 is spread on say 3 hands only where none of them will sell, while the 20 are spread on 20 hands where maybe 3 to 5 will sell
then even if there is a higher number in the one breed, in fact its harder to require and more valuable, and such should an individ be sold it should be sold probably higher. For this reason people shouldnt keep more then they need, of course if you got two copies or 3 that you keep for having distinct different colors and details thats valuable, thats one thing, but just keeping exact copies is something that should try to be avoided so a more corect picture can more easily be painted.
and well if you looked on my farm just a week back or so you would seen almost half my valuable very rare cats pregnant, however the reason was i was working on replacing them.
so while yes you are doing the rigth thing keeping an eye out, when or if you contact someone be open to the posiblity that there is a perfectly reasonable explanation, and so form your contact in such a way that you dont jump to conclusions, but rather ask in a polite way while explaining that if the answer is so and so, then i am sorry for having bothered you, however if its so and so, the effect of doing this is so and so, and because of this I would like you to consider this, and maybe consider or reconsider your plans of what to do with the kittens based on the information I have given you |

I breed cats, and I know about getting more than one pregnant to increase the chances. I'm just worried about the misbreds. I'll keep an eye on the farm, atleast. I just want to make sure. But, about the Sphynx, do I have to wait until the owner does something? Or is there something else I can do? |

you can contact the owner if they are active and ask if they can adjust the studprice
i am afraid short of that there is very little that can be done, in fact the owner of the animal has the rigth to it acording to game rules, so when deals are made they are entirely on trust, and have no legal consquenses by game rules that the game will act on
as such once you sold an animal it belong to the owner, they may do whatever they please with the animal legaly, agreements are only trust binding between players, not game juristictional binding
which means a promise is only as good as the one who makes it, and you can ask but not demand anyone to change their ways and their prices |

I've been away for 6mths and I'm just amazed at how much has changed - now everyone is trying to tell everyone how to breed, when to breed, what to breed. This game has become very dull because of this - why?
I am probably in the top 10 or at least top 20 of people who have spent the most REAL MONEY playing this game.
I only have one thing in mind "If you don't want it overbred or bred against your wishes make your creation an AE and don't release it to anyone". Why can't anyone just follow this instead of telling people how to play? |

well my question would be what makes it dull? i could see several potential objections to it, which would be sound, and its your perogative to disagree with the club, just as its their perogative to disagree with you. However i do not get the one objection you do make, based on that it would pretty much give the same outcome as your own advice would, and which is the situation we have been moving towards these last few months as a result of breeders no longer trusting the market.
And if anything is making the game dull, well its the fact that its moving where it moves, as its stalling new creations due to lack of tokens in the market as a consequense of those buying tokens now spending them all themself to make only AE creations just as you advice. |

I dislike who are selling and breeding other peoples creation if the madea contract or even out of just respect even if they don't have a contact.
That's why if I was to put up a dog in slae or stud or auction I would put on the acution rules that if anyone would like their animals sterile or anything I would.
It just makes me mad because if I was to make something I would want people to respect my creation and not over breed or anything. <.> |
