So I was wondering if anybody had any ideas of more classes or a way to raise for our local Humane Society.(they sorely need it) I don't want people to have to pay to get in but maybe we could have a donation box for the humane society.Or maybe we could sell stuff for your pets.I don't know the whole point is to have some fun!

Nobody have any comments? Have any of you done anything similar before. This is our fifth year doing it.Some people we don't even know come stand outside of the fence and watch.I guess the loudspeaker draws them in.The agility is one of the really fun parts.Hardly any of us know what we're doing.Gidget is the only dog that is trained in agility. She teaches the other dogs what they're supposed to do.Will somebody please reply? I don't type very fast and that took a while! |

Go to a cheap place and get a ton for cheap; wholesale is god's greatest gift. Use it! Add your own little touch to it, or get some people involved by having them ecorate a leash as long as you supply the...ahem...supplies.
People will pay big buckaroonies for a 'one of a kind, custom-made' leash that benefits charity |

I'll definitely buy some thanks Des! That is after the house is clean so the people with fancy houses don't dislike our house blah blah blah. That's the main thing Mom thinks about lol |

You could sell dog treats, cat nip (planted in an egg shell half, pm me for more about that), what-ever you think goats like, if you have bunnies, sell like grass bouquets (so that each bunny feels like a winner, lol). Also, if you have access to a camera, and a quick printer, and a laptop or computer where you can easialy(sp) print out pictures, use that, and set up a stand where you take photos of the animals while in the show, and when they have a small intermission, just print out the pics, and sell them for like $2.50 for a pack of 6 photos of thier choice, and $5.00 for a 14 pack of photos of thier choice, and so on. Also, take footage of each part of the show, like each class, and put the footage on C-Ds, and sell them for like $1.00 per C-D, and $5.00 for footage of all 12 shows. You could also sell like smoothies, hot coffee, candy, cat toys, goat toys, bunny toys, and doy toys, and also, you could sell fresh baked cookeis, kept warm in a thermas, or you could sell soup and such. |

You could offer certificates to say like for eg. 'This is to certify that Max has taken part in the Neighborhood Pet Show!' Or something like that...
Then they could have their pets name writen onto the certificates. |

Thanks you guys.
Cowgirls: interesting ideas.I don't want to sell the pictures since we've always given them away to the people in the past but videotaping it is a great idea.I just need a video camera and to get the invitations out.A grass boquet for the bunnies would work out great and maybe a portrait of their pet if I could pay someone on here to do it. hmm...
ChocolateGal: maybe the afternoon before the pet show we could do that but I'm still in school at that point so I don't know
greenpen: they get one of those if they win a class but maybe everyone should get one good idea!
Btw we are inviting a llama named Dove and two baby miniature goats to come also! Yay |

Instead of selling why not have everyone donated a can or bag of pet food?
Years ago my church your-th group was in Houston,TX and one place we visited changed a can of food for the homeless to get in., and libarary near me has a thing where for each can of food you donante something like a 1.00 is taken of your overdue fines, but that's only during National Libaray Week. |

Dogs
Katie- Heinz 57 |
First off, I just have to say that that ^^ is creepy. xD I have a dog named Katie & she is also a Heinz 57...
Moving on ... some ideas...
(1) Bake sale ... make brownies, cookies, a cake even ... *IF* you think people won't mind spending a quarter or 50 cents (or set a price of your own) I volunteer with the local SPCA (we have an official Youth Group) and we hold a bake sale about 2 times a year. We get food donations & then sell them for 50 cents a bag.
(2) For contests, *edited* I can't read ... suggested a costume, but then saw you had that listed Hmm, maybe "best trick"? The audience could vote ... could also be held for cats, maybe bunnies? I know I taught my old cat to sit on his back legs.
(3) Try having donations ... Put up lists around your neighborhood of what (besides money) the shelter could use & let people know that they can drop the items off at your house.
(4) There is always canvasing the neighborhood (now if you live in a country setting, this might not work) & see if anyone has anything they'd like to donate as far as old leashes, unused toys/stuffed animals, trash bags, etc (whatever the place needs) ... You could also check pet stores & see if they could sponsor you or give out donations. And if nothing else, they could put up a flyer advertising your pet show.
Hmm, that's it for now, sorry if I repeated anything, I didn't bother to read.
*Oh* If you, or anyone you know, can make and donate some kind of craft, you could sell that as well... In the little shop at the SPCA, they have handmade bracelets with a ribbon & sheet of paper on feline leukemia. You could do something along that line ... Or doggy scarves, or people scarves, etc, etc |

Thanks for the input.I might consider donations along that line Dumbledore. MCM_Raine I don't think that we could do a bake sale we normally just have a potluck and I think charging money for food or entry would turn people off.I forgot to post that we have a best trick contest also but most of the animals are too excited to cooperate lol Donations would be a good idea as Dumbledore mentioned.Canvasing the neighborhood would be a good idea also if I can get someone to go with me. I would love to hand out articles about feline leukemia or spay and neuter but I don't know where I can get the fliers from.Anyways there have been some great ideas posted please don't hesitate to show more. btw a groomer has offered 3 kennels for us to borrow for some of the animals to stay in while they're not competing. They will probably be used for the cats. |

If you have a good printeror access to one, you could make your own flyers. |
