I'm very concerned about my dog...

This morning whilst rushing to get outside, one of the other dogs knocked him and now he can't walk....

We took him straight down the vets as he's had back problems before, they've gave him painkillers and such, but they said that if he twist wrong he may be paralized for life, and there would be nothing we could do....

He's proving very difficult to keep calm, I'm so scared that he's gonna do more damage to himself.

When he tries to walk he just falls over, so we're trying to keep him lying down. The vet said he needs COMPLETE rest, but he's making it so hard. To make matters worse, we had our floors done today and they are extremely slippy.

I will try to keep you all informed.

Fingers crossed everyone...I really hope that it just clears up Sad

Does your vet have any sedatives that you could use?

Hmmm, do they still sell some type of rubber booties for dogs for winter? Like at the local pet store? He may not like to keep them on, but it might give him a bit of traction on the floors...

Thanks guys....
Sorry I wasn't on yesterday but I've been so paranoid about him, I've been with him 24/7 to make sure he stays calm.

Went back vet today. He HAS improved slightly. Although he was still in a lot of pain when the vet examined him (he tried to bite her, good job he was wearing a muzzle).

He's on some more tablets (higher dose of anti-inflamitory) and he's walking a little better.

Hopefully with a lot of rest and TLC he'll get back to his normal annoying self. (Funny how you miss it when they're ill)

But thanks again for your support. I will try to keep you informed..

Good news!!!

He's recovered quite well. He's still not 100% but he's almost back to his normal self. He sometimes has a little stumble but soon gets back up again. He's still not allowed to go for walks (which he's seriously annoyed about) BUT,,,, I think he's going to be fine Very Happy
