|

At first, I considered whinging, but then decided I do that too much...so I'll do otherwise.
I want to know, for the people who have been playing for at least a month now, what is your goal for this game? What do you hope to accomplish? What do you want to do for yourself/farm, for other players, for the community? And why? Why do you want to reach whatever your goal may be? Why do you want to give to the community? Etc. Be as detailed as possible, I really enjoy reading intelligent and well thought out responses.
My answers:
For the time being, this is my relief zone, I can persuade myself to not think so deeply about current issues, and I can pretend I'm in a whole new world. One that you have total control, and one that I'm enjoying being in. But...my goals? My goal for this game would be to acquire as many AE and rare animals as possible, I want to do well in events/competitions, I want the best quality animals. And, I am trying to make it so that...when a player thinks of a desired animal, they'll automatically think; "Hey, Kat has what I want." I mean...I know I'm waaaay far away from such, but everything requires work and devotion..
For the community, I want to have the finances and means to be able to contribute to the ones who are willing to take a few steps on their own, those people who will actually put forth some effort and do everything possible to accomplish their own goals, those are the people I'm allured into helping. I know I'm not the most generous or kindest player here, far from, but I do enjoy feeling the joy of helping another make their variation a part of SBF, ya'know? I'm just rambling, aren't I? Okay, so, I think being able to help other people is my objective for the community. Also, I hadn't expected this, but people look up to me? I hadn't realized that before, I've had a few people message me, asking for advice on real life issues, and...I was pleasantly surprised, so, being a role-model? A help to people is something else.
Why do I want to do these things? The real question is why not? I was told I'm not selfish, and despite the heavy dose of skepticism on my part, I'm determined to be unselfish, but also to be what I believe I am. I want to share my animals, but i also want to hoard, collect them for myself. I have to admit, it does take a lot for me to give in and say yes to some trades, but after it's done, I'm satisfied. The receiving end has acquired some new variations for their own collection, and so have I. But, what's the point of collecting animals? I mean, why do I have the desire to do so? Good question - because...I really have fun, making it a challenge to get them all, it's a reward almost. There are some animals that I've acquired and all that I did was ask and offer a trade...and simply had them given to me. This was a shock to me, at first...i didn't think highly of this player, maybe because I didn't know her, but now that I do...I really enjoy being.. friends? with this person. And the second person, she's always good at finding alternatives and...well, now I'm the proud owner of some awesome animals. [=
The events, I want to win because winning represents the higher quality. I know SBF isn't home to pedigrees or anything, or maybe it is in some manners of speaking, but...sometimes people scorn me for owning mutts, claiming they should be euthanized, but...these animals, they have hearts and minds of their own, why take that from them? So, in a manner of speaking, I have high standards, but I also don't mind spending the money I've earned to buy animals off the market that have been sitting for awhile, their potential not being used to the owner's advantage...
Dang. I'm all over the place, rambling again. I'm terribly sorry, my mind isn't great at functioning on topic any more...
Erm, anyway, your turn (: |

I love this game for a number of reasons, primary among them the challenge to learn more of the animals themselves and to create a "tribute" to an animal that is struggling for survival in real life. I love the versatility and the chance to help a community of people from all walks of life and various areas of the world cooperate with each other to achieve their OWN desires.
My goals? I wasn't aware I had any, but you made me think about it. On the selfish level I want to collect every AE and end animal on the game, while also making something of thr or above for not only every environment but perhaps eventually every species. On the less internalised side, this is a chance for me to help other learn to think how they can help THEMSELVES, and others. It isn't my responsibility whether people take that opportunity for personal gain, or for the generosity it allows.
In this game I am just one cog in the works, but I like to think I do enough that people benefit from my presence.

Weeelll..
When I first started playing this game (almost a year ago now, oh my gosh) I was very confused and frustrated for the first couple of months or so, as most new players are. I recieved a lot of help, not in the way of freebies, but good solid advice on how to play the game. I appreciated those people and at that point wanted to become one of those. Someone who could help out new and old players as and when possible.
I know I'm not as well thought of as Jinxx and Odin and some others. Afterall they have contributed a lot to this game. But I'd like to think people can come to me for advice.
My goals? At the moment to try and aquire as many as possible Threatened and above colours and variations of cats. In doing this I'd like to think I'm helping others to get animals they need/want through trades.
I guess my selfish goal would be to become one of the top players on this site.
Like so many others, this game s my retreat. I can forget about real life problems for a while.
Erm I think that's everything. All in all I love the people on here. Everyone is extremely friendly and I hope in never changes. |

Hmm. Cool thread to make, by the way.
I think my biggest goal would be to create a name for myself.
When people hear the name 'Silversketches' they think, I dunno, bad example but, 'Power?' I don't want to take over SBF, [XD] but I just want to be known, and respected...Like I can make myself heard, and people won't overlook my posts. And I guess I think [thought?] that if I had lots of endangered/ae animals, people would repsect me..? I'm not sure.
And my art would be treasured, I guess. Like when Hazel-rah posts an open slot on VHR, people scramble and pay millions for a piece of art from her...I guess that's one of my goals, to have amazing art. I mean, my pieces are so... cartoonish right now..my goal is to create a piece of work that looks like a photograph...
I hope that makes sense...it's hard to explain..
Might edit later if I think of anything else... |

I've never really thought about it before. Let's see. (Not listed in any particular order)
As a player:
- To enjoy my stay on SBF
- To help others enjoy their stay on SBF
- To help others see that helping others is a very good thing
- To make everything in my creations notebook
- To have people say 'Wow, I want your farm, Jinxx!'
- To have a good 'relationship' with other SBF players.
- To not seem out of reach to others.
As a moderator:
- To help SBF players
- To help the forums run smoothly
- To help keep the peace on the boards
- To not seem out of reach to the players
- To have a good 'relationship' with the players of SBF
- To keep the players of SBF safe for internet predators.
I'm sure there's more for both categories but I think what's listed is at least the general idea. |

Uh.. Jinxx. People already do. ._.
Silver, don't dis your art. you and Queso and Falada and Rio and...are probably the best artists on SBF. Mute doesn't play, so don't dare compare yourself to her >>
Thanks again, guys [= |

This game is my break from life, I don’t have to think about things or even really log on for a few days if life gets hectic so there is no rush for me to get things done. For right now my only goal for my farm is to have at least one type of everything cow and aviary wise in my collection but, I can build up my collection and improve their stats over time. Yeah it might take me a few generations of breeding and buying until I do this but that’s why it’s a goal. As to why I want to do this… well the cows have been almost overlooked and they deserve to be paraded around like real world show cattle. Seeing how it is illegal to own most of the animals in the aviary while living in a city focusing on that group of animals gives me a chance to breed my own flocks and care for them.
In the community I want to give where I can to who I think deserves it, help those who help themselves and all that. What some people don’t realize is that to get all the tokens people use someone has to work for the money to buy those tokens. That could be one of the reasons tokens aren’t sold as often now, some in the community don’t understand the evils of working for a living. lol, yeah it sounds bad putting it that way but I have worked here and in rl for what I have. The only thing I’ll give out to everyone for free is advice. |

This game to me is a whole new bunch of friends. Ones who don't lie and blame things on me (or run away to their bedrooms). Unfortunatly i haven't made a start and a creation but i would realy like one. I would liek to get rid of my not so good animals to places where they can be looked after. Like Jinxx i would like people to say "OMG, i really want your farm," but that never going to happen. So in the meantime i wouls like to keep more animals on my farm. But i can't afford it This game is great break from school because there is always some one that cares for you but at the moment i'm pressured for getting rid of my animals (200/200) and i would wish they give it a rest and stop hurting my feelings. Any way this game is great! |
