THIS IS HUGE!!!!

I was trying to convince my dad to let me lease Glory [the horse I ride]
for the summer.

He thinks it's silly for me to raise $500 to rent a horse for only 2 months when I can buy her for the same price!!!!!!!!!!!

I'M SOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll have to pay for her myself, but I've already figured that all out [since my dad agreed to hire me] and all I have to do now is keep my grades {{way}} up, which will be pretty easy since I'm already a nerd [lol].
He still has to talk to her owner and my [riding] instructor, but I'm sure he can get it all worked out. If he does, she will be my first horse.

I WILL ACTUALLY OWN A HORSE!!!!!!!!!!!
[not just any horse, but GLORY!!! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy ]
IT WILL ACTUALLY BE MINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[sorry if this all seems a little much, but I don't know if yall [I'm southern]
can tell just how excited I am!!!! Razz ]

Here are some pictures of one of our lessons together::
NOTE: my posture is not great, seeing how it was one of our earlier lessons [back yonder when I had first started riding]

{{{{i changed the second image because i felt like it was not very safe to show an actual picture of my face, but i think the first one is blurred enough so that you can't really tell}}}}

Your dad knows how expencive it is to care for a horse, right? With board, shoes, and vet bills it's around $200 minimum. Assuming he knows, congradulations! Are you going to get her vetted first? How old is she and what breed? I'm excited for you Very Happy!

Agreed lol my board alone is $250 per month, plus $80 for a trim of all four feet every 6 weeks, plus about $40 every other month for vet care, give or take. That's not even touching tack...a new saddle alone is ridiculous (at least $800, not including girth, saddle pad, stirrup leathers, irons, etc). It takes me about a week working above minimum wage full time to make enough just to cover board. So yeah, REALLY sit down and look at the costs, especially if you have to pay all of this yourself. There isn't anything you can do without.

In any case, if the financial aspects work out for you, congratulations. I was riding for about 13 years before I bought my first horse. I pay everything for her myself, so I can speak from experience when I say that $500 is NOTHING compared to upkeep costs. Good luck with her and stay safe!

Yes, I have been looking into this ever since I started riding, and my dad agreed to help with the vet bills. I got a bunch of tack for x-mas, and what I don't have, I can borrow from the [current ] owner, and my friends.

thankies, and I will try to remember my helmet Very Happy Very Happy
[lol sometimes i get so excited about riding i forget it]
