All my rats have offical nicknames now! They are unoriginal, but that's why they are nicknamed now.
They are:
Cutesicle (applies to any one of them usually to get their attention)
Ratsicle (same as above)
Cutey (Same as above)
Men (usually when addresing them all or approaching the cage; "Hey men!")
Shyguy (just for cinnamon, he's really shy and not very outgoing.)
BadgerBoy (Just for Berry, he has really werid fur coloring and he has some sort of a mask around his eyes...)
Slinker (Another for berry, he does not like to stay still at ALL.)
Old man (Gary's nickname; He's about 2 years old and acts his age. He's even loosing alot of his hair!)
I don't know how long Gary is going to live, I hope he lives until he's at least 3 and a half. He's never been to a vet before and might not need to hopefully.. non of them have so far. No one takes 'Exotic animals' for vet care and the only place we know of charges $30 for even a simple check up. *shakes head* |

Chilly Girl- It's ok if you like his rump, I like his rump too. It's just right for napping on while he grazes, plush and fuzzy like a pillow that rolls in the dirt. Other than a shot I have of us running during an event all my favorite shots of him are from the back. He just has a photogenic tail.
Monday Tom went to 4H and taught my mini-4Hers barrels and demonstrated the old clothes relay. He was an almost perfect gentleman other than he'd plant himself whenever I tried to lead him toward the gate and refused to leave the arena to let me get the clothes for the relay without a mule-like fight. I really wouldn't have been surprised if he had sat down to keep me from making him shift before he got a chance to flat out run his pattern (trotting for the demo apparently wasn't enough for him). It's pretty clear that he really misses the excitement of being around so much activity. On the trailer ride to the fair grounds he had his head up and looking out all the openings to see where he was going. I guess I need to find some small shows in the area to take him to just so we can play at the contesting events he loves without the pressure of doing an entire show like when we still competed in 4H. |

Thats soooo cute!!! $30???!!! OMG!!! That more expencive than my goats would be if they were rats!!!! and we spend like 10k a month on em! OMG That's a lot of money for a small animal. I had no idea it was that expensive! hopefully the rabbits don't hav to see the vet! I hope Gary lives longer too! thats funny i had no clue they loose their fur when they get old. lol thats kinda funny. have fun with your rats! |

Daisy: Yeah I'd be careful with singling out one as your favorite animal then your parents might think you shouldn't have any that aren't your favorite. Parents are confusing sometimes though mine are animal crazies too so I've never had to worry about it. Good luck with them. Have you had any luck with finding potential homes for the kids?
NeverWinter: Adorable nicknames!!! I give nicknames to my animals all the time. My cat Midnight was Middy Mouse, Midder Kitter, Kitty Mid, Little Miss Middy, and a bunch of other things. Moon is a lot of times Moona. Dutchess is Dutchy, Dutchers, Queen Dutchess. Cuddles is Cuds and Cuddies. Braveheart is Brave and Thomas. My grandma insists his name is Thomas and refuses to call him his real name.
Anyways........
Mute: That's so cool he had fun out there. You should definitely find some local fun shows to take him too!!!
My animals are all pretty good. Not much going on except I'm missing the llamas since we haven't seen them lately. Packing is getting to be a pain in the butt and the movers are coming the 17th so yeah........I'll be without a computer for a while and maybe permanently we're not sure if we are getting internet at our new place wherever that is.....
Sugarbaby is fending off the heat and the llamas need to be sheared |

Cecelia wrote: | Chilly: Thanks for updating! I've missed you lately!!! Awesome about the puppies. Having them all in the house was probably a blast but hectic too lol. I'm praying Molly adjusts well to her new home. Good luck with everyone. Do you still have your rabbit? |
Yes, it was extremely hectic. So much, in fact, I'm not going to foster for another month, so I can focus on my own dogs. I've actually fostered dogs from them constantly for a year and a half now, so I don't think it would be asking too much for a break!
Just a couple weeks ago, my rabbit's hutch was attacked by some kind of animal. I think maybe a raccoon or possum. I usually bring her inside at night at around 8pm. But I had some relatives over and I forgot about brining her in. (Remember at that time, I had 4 ferrets, 7 dogs, 1 cat and 4 rats also.) I remembered her at about 10pm. The hutch is attached to a run by a tunnel. The animal had somehow detached the tunnel from her cage and whatever happened from there is history. I knew she hadn't done it herself because the tunnel had puncture marks from what looked like small canine teeth. I searched for her for days, and I couldn't find her. I suspect she was eaten. ='( After that, I don't really want to get another rabbit. I would feel too guilty. So I'm selling her hutch after replacing the tunnel.

Heyy! Ummm.......I love dogs and just wanted to telll peoples about mine!
I currently have a cockapoo is name is Zeke and he is black. He came with my step dad step sister other step sister and step borther . My other Doggy which I LOVE is a silver Labradoodle from Virginia named Harry I call him Harry-Doodle sometimes because he is a labraDOODLE. I got him when I was five and he is four. he came on a plane and I have loved him ever since! I also have a black cat named Boo. (I love her name!) we got her from the local SPCA one september and named her Boo. She will meow often and cling to your ankels either when you are walking OR standing still Ha Ha. At my dad's house I have 2 cats Dimond (diamond but for like spelling her name Dimond) and LoveBug. me and my brother named the cats before we knew what they were. Dimond is a BOY and LovBug is a GIRL. Dimond is mine LoveBug is my brothers. My step mom also has a Orangey Shiba Inu Zoe. Shiba' are fun out Zoe is a DRAMA QUEEN! she barks at everything and has whats called a Shiba Scream. she has to be taken for walks like at 6am like 3 times during the day and at like 10am and she is fed like warm soft chicken and given bones from dinner.
Thoes are my pets! and Harry of course, is my FAVEORITE
oh and I also have had tons of hermit crabs and my stepsister currently has one she hasn't named him yet though I don't think. I also have a fish. he is black and his eyes stick way out to the sides. he is about 2 1/2 inches long and 1 1/4 inches tall. he is so cute! I think we r gonna keep the animals!!! and nope no potential home offers yet, seems nobody is interested, we posted on craigslist. hmm... We had a scare with Milo on Sunday. the babies were dehorned just about 1 week ago and he got pecked on the head by a chicken! so he bled for like 10 minutes long!!! and our luck on a sunday, no vets were open so we applied presure, but he got pecked on a horn sooo bad he like poured blood and it squirted out in like a pulsing form! we were like "Oh my gosh! The dumb chicken pecked an artery!" luckily she didn't. Stupid Rosalie (my hen that pecked him). OMG we are runing outta Belle's milk. lol she isn't producing enough! the babies are almost eating 10 oz and she only makes about a quart a day. since she's a purebred nigerian dwarf. lol its crazy around my ranch. lol |

Chilly: I'm so sorry about your bunny.I can completely understand about forgetting though.everybody makes mistakes. Taking a break would be understandable especially since you just had all those puppies. Give Chilly and Clover a hug for me
LuvHorsess: Thanks for dropping in. Harry sounds really nice it'd be great if you had any pictures. Is his hair super curly? How much does he weigh? Shiba Inu's can make an odd racket of noise. Maybe you could try different routes on her walk to liven her up some?
Daisy: Poor Milo!!! That would have been so scary! Has the vet come out since it happened? Are there any local farms that have goats where you could buy some for her babies? It is probably hard for her to produce that much for two energetic little ones. Good luck
We sheared Cameo, K.T. and Ivy. They look a lot better though Ivy looks kinda funny since we had to shear off most of her neck wool too. She grows so much wool in a year. We had two bags full and most llamas only produce one bag. It was so great to see them. We're getting closer to having them but its kinda annoying with all this packing going on. Everything's pretty good here except for me with some infection. It's getting better though so no more isolation. |

Daisy: that would definitely be scary about the chicken and the goat!! *screams* I would have really freaked out.
well I have 2 dogs and they are just house dogs, but one is really old and has arthritis. Well at dinner my family was discussing medicine for her and my dad suggested this aspirin that you spray on the dog food and my brother goes "no we can't so that cause Mitsy(our little young dog)will eat it and get high on pain killer! and then you would see her sitting around with this dazed expression and when she barks it would be like this wierd sounding thing" and he did this example. It was pretty funny! |

lorraine: lol I can definitely see Mitsy doing that. Wouldn't there be a way to seperate them when they're eating so Cameo alone can still get that in her food?
Well what I have to report is that Sugarbaby is scared of fireflies lol I had him in his pen in the yard and a firefly came right up in front of his eyes and lit up. He froze like a coyote had him by the neck lol
Yesterday our neighbor had open containers of antifreeze sitting in his flowerbeds so that an cats that go over there will eat it and die and not bother with his flowerbeds. What a jerk!!! We got all our cats inside as soon as our other neighbor called us about it. Our cats never go over there but we were on the safe side. The neighbor that called us is feeding 10 stray cats across the street that go over there often. She convinced him to pick up the antifreeze because they are taking the 7 kittens to a no-kill animal shelter today. I think he'll do it again someday and the humane society WILL be getting a call. We've lost enough cats lately Moon, Braveheart, and Dutchess don't need to be next. |

well I just started taking riding lessons again!! The horse that I am riding is names Big Red and he is really sweet and beautiful. A couple of weeks ago he cracked his hoof, though, but he is doing well now!! And believe it or not yesterday was the first time I had ridden out of the arena in my life...... that was a good experience! |

lorraine- That's great to hear that you liked your first time being on the outside. Nothing quite beats a trail ride or just a quick walk in a field.
I've found an open gaming show that I'm planning on going to Sunday. I really want to take both Tom and Prince, but if I can't talk someone into going with me I'll have to choose one. Since Tom hasn't regained the stamina to do so many running classes back to back yet it'll probably be Prince coming along if push comes to shove and he could use the experience of going somewhere new and doing slightly strange (to him) things like sack races.
Prince is getting better at pivoting every ride. My fingers are crossed that he'll have it down pat by the end of summer. Last week was somewhat odd in that we came out of the arena and normally he heads straight for the barn, but he decided to hook a left and go out into the pastures which he never agrees to doing alone without a fuss. He took me almost all of the way back to the last fence before he turned around to come back and during the whole thing I didn't so much as twitch the reins until we were back at the barn and he tried to go right back out again, then the fight started since I had other horses to ride and a jealous Tom to assure that he was still my favorite even if I was riding that 'thing' before I took him out for his spin. I'm fairly sure they are jealous about having to share anything with each other, Tom can give these ridiculously dirty looks when he doesn't come first and Prince hangs out his outside window watching the arena like a kicked puppy when I have any other horse out. At least they can be trusted to stand side by side at the trailer and not kick the tar out of each other like they probably would have years ago when they first met.
On a side note, Quint has recovered from his surgery and is back to being his contrary self complete with the insistence that the only way he wants to be petted is if it is my foot, all other methods will earn you a growl or a thump and flash of bunny tail as he flees. |

Mute- That's great that Quint has recovered so well!! That's kinda funny about the horses! My dogs, Cameo and Mitsy, are like that too you always have to give one more attention than the other but that makes the other one jealous!! then mitsy will for some reason get mad at cameo and try to fight but cameo is so much bigger and it's funny to watch. Rest assured though they never hurt each other and MOST of the time they get along!!! |
