Cosmosxx - I know, I know. I'm vegetarian, I don't even kill bugs.
But even I have taken a warning shot at a coyote who was trying to dig his way into my chicken pen. And if he hadn't taken the hint - much as I would have hated it - I would have shot him. If it's him or my chickens...
Luckily I haven't had to make that choice - yet.
And I'm sorry - but the Mohave Rattlesnakes we have here are aggressive and do not back down. If I run into one around the house - it has until I can get back with the gun to get outta here. Now the Western Diamondbacks - they'll run the other way just as fast as I can run for the house. But the Mohaves will freaking chase you there. We have dogs, cats, chickens, horses, a mule, and now and then grandchildren here - we can't risk it.
Although the cool thing is - since we've had the barn cats (basically since I moved in here) there hasn't been a rattler near the barn or house. The year before I moved in roomie killed two - one right by the barn, the other in the yard. |

Ok research done, now it may only be a amateour diagnosis since i am only 13 years old and dont have a degree in snimal science, but i have limited it down to possibly....
Hookworm infection- causes anemia, haemorrhagic diarrhoea. and symptoms are, anorexia, and weight loss, poor body condition.
Intestinal Fluke-causes infection, appear to be asymptomatic. the cause is eating raw fish, or in zoos poorly frozen fish. |

The bear was perfectly healthy, as far as was visible. The bear was a fat one, plenty heavy, with thick, covering fur. I doubt it was sick, just looking for a cheep meal. Unfortunately that didn't work out for him... |
