I have finally plunged into the world of picmanips! I think I may like picmanips better than hand drawns--you can be creative with what's already there on the internet. Besides, my drawings are kinda sloppy. With a picmanip, there's lots of creativity in how you arrange the pic. Anyway, please be honest.

Just to show I CAN cut out...(the 2nd one was deliberate)

Work on cutting out the picture so that there is no part of the background in it. It makes it look half-done if you can still see half an inch of background around the main image. You want to try and get as close to the animal as you can when you cut out. Like:

Thanks for the tip. I actually left the backround on the second one on on purpose. I though it looked nice, yes I have weird taste Rolling Eyes . See the top.

On the one where it was actually cut, the mouth looked rather sloppily cut, and the neck was choppy.
For the best cutting you can get on paint, I'd suggest doing what you were doing: Leaving a bit of the background around the original pic. Use the star tool and leave about half an inch or so of pixels between the picture and your cursor.
Copy it, then paste it onto a white surface. Use the eraser - all sizes will probably be necessary - for the majority of it. For the smaller bits, use a white pencil.
Make SURE the WHOLE background around the horse is WHITE. SOLID white, no other shades or anything.
(You can check that by filling in the background with another color.)
Then, do Ctrl + A, Ctrl + C. Go to the background for the pic, make the Select tool have the blank background selected, Ctrl + P, and voila! Perfectly cut picture Very Happy

Oh, and legs can be tricky sometimes. Be careful around them.

Seems like a lot, but it's really not hard at all ^_^

Thanks you, Angelicious! One thing I figured out--you can use the strech tool to shrink the pic so that when you magnify it, you can trace around the whole thing. Then you can restore the size. It works much better.
