Whenever there might be something slightly wrong we always immediatly take them. Well, we managed to save one of my rabbits before by doing that - it was a 24 hour thing, if we had waited 'till even the next day she would of been dead.

yeah, i take my pets to the vet all the time, my other pets being my dogs and cats. i wouldnt minimize the importance of rodents as pets, but the truth when it comes down to it is i cant afford to pay 250 dollars or more, just to diagnose an animal, who has already outlived the lifespan expected of the animal, and who i know from experence does infact have cancer. the vets to be honest feel the same way.it is always sad to loose a pet, but rodents, such as it is, are not long lived creatures. i would rather have my pet live out the last days of its life at home and comfortable, rather than carting it around in the winter and have it handled by unfamiliar people.its a sad prospect, but i think as humans our hearts get in the way.we want to love our animals so much, we dont always do the right thing for them, by letting them be comfortable and at home for their last days. |
