Well as the title says, I have finally begun understanding my tablet adn am starting to get teh hang of making realisms on paint adn on the Corel Painters Essentials 4 (Tablet program) Here are some of my most recent works.

A german Shepherd type dog, A basic refrence for trying out paint again.

A wolf with bangs realism.

I give you Wolfenstien. Anyone who has watched Soul Eater(Anime) Will know Stein, I wolfy-fyed him Smile

Realism Shark

First realism ever, a wolf practice. Possibly my favorite.

More to come

Honestly, this is a decent output for a beginner! All I can suggest to you is studying ( and by studying, I mean really just staring and noticing all the shadows on muscles, the way fur arranges itself on the chest of a hound, or the squint of a rat ) some photographs that really capture the anatomy and proportions of animals. Use that as your guide when you embark on the adventure of creating your own beastie.

I've also discovered that when you're drawing something, let's say a horse, you can break their bodies up into segments. Segments such as jaw, muzzle, elbows, rib cage. Basically, just draw the vague bone structure before filling in

I've also found looking at other people's artwork has immensely helped my own perspective, and sharpened my own drawing techniques. Sometimes someone draws something in such a simple way that it just clicks and you figure out how to apply it to your own artwork. I'm rambling, hope something out of all of this has helped :}
