|
|
So, i went on vacation for about 3 weeks and left most of my animals with a family member. She took all but one cat, so i left him with a friend. Well, now that im back my friend has told me that while i was away, a large lump grew on my cats neck, she took him to the vet and they said he has thyroid cancer. So, now she refuses to give Kovu back to me because she says she doesnt think i can take care of him because i have 5 kids and just found out i have another on the way. I tried reasoning with her by saying ill pay her back for the vet bills and everything, but she says the only way im getting him back is if i give her a thousand dollars to prove i can afford him.
I dont know what to do, every animal they've had has died in a terribly painful way. In fact, thier last cat had thyroid cancer. they didnt give her her medication because they were scared she's scratch them. She died painfully years later when the tumor burst.
Any advice on what i should do? |

Go to the police?
Or else take your cat by force. What's she going to do?
That is shocking though, who does she think she is to demand 1000 dollars to "prove" you can afford him!!!!
Sounds like she is trying to scam money out of you. |

She's already told me if i come near her home and family, im going to jail. Because she was trying to be "reasonable" by making a deal and i crossed the line by mentioning the painful death of her last cat. |

I'd be calling the police.. Gather up any pictures you have of her with your kids or family to show that it is your cat. She's already threatened to call them on you, so I'd say the friendship is over. |

That isn't reasonable, she is totally out of order.
Like Bama said, proof that she is your cat would probably make it quite easy to get her back if you contacted the police.
I hope you get this sorted. :/ |

I had a mutual friend go to her house to discuss it with her. This friend came back and told me she was gone, Her house is up for sale and her and her family are no where to be found. Even if i got the police involved, I dont know where she is. I have an idea of where she went, but, Its quite far away, and the police in this state wont do anything if she's in another state. |
