I just found out this week that I'm diabetic...
Which explains why I've been so sick, for so long.
Naturally I'm not thrilled about it but at least now I've got some answers...And now that I know, I can (hopefully >.<) start to get better....It would make a nice change to feel healthy and full of energy like I used to!
I've been playing pretty off and on for months now, because of other RL issues, and because some days I just couldn't muster the energy to be here.....Hopefully now I can get back into it full swing
Just curious if anyone else is diabetic? |

Thanks SD
My grandfather was, and I have no idea about anyone on my fathers side >.<
I gotta say though...Not loving the needles
And the fact that even though I only ate real cookies rarely, now they are completely off the cards

Oh Tani baby, at least there is a reason for the sickness *huggles* My mum's a pre diabetic, and my family is not having fun with all the plain food we have to eat. My dad's got gallstones too, so I'm the only one who can each properly!
Which type to you have type 1 or type 2? 'Cause I know there's one where you can eat as many lollies as you like, and one where you can't. My friend has diabetes, and he has just got used to it after his whole life with it.
There's also a chance I could get diabetes when I'm older, because my mum had me wen she was very old (not 80 though!).
Ya.... anyways, hope you get through the illness and be 110% with energy!
*More hugs*

Aw, dat's sad. My grandma is diabetic and my mom is sorta diabetic (if eats certain foods she feels sick). I know that there are a lot of people right there with you! Hopefully you can get it all figured out without too much difficulty and get to feeling like yourself. =3 |

I've got adult-onset....Type 2. Cause I'm old lmao >.<
The diet is pretty much what I was eating before anyway, sans the occasional cookie and bit of chocolate....But I do miss the freedom of having milk any time I want, as much fruit as I like, and the odd serving of Doritos........Lol, we only just started selling them here in NZ this year..Now I'm not allowed 'em. Dangit
I'm still getting the hang of testing my glucose....
And remembering to EAT.
I was/am really bad about remembering to eat regularly....Now I have to eat every 4 hours or so, so I have to plan ahead and take food with me if I'm going to be out....Argh. I've already forgotten to do that twice
It sounds crazy...But I have short term memory problems so even something simple like eating and taking medication at the right times is a hassle...Sigh |

Aww I'm sorry Tani *huggles* Think positively, now you can start to feel better!
I have a suggestion to help you not forget to eat and take your meds. Could you program an alarm into your cell to go off every so often? I have several friends that have to take medication on a strict schedule, so they set their phones to remind them. |

I'm have some trial and errors with a phone alarm........It requires me to remember to have it near enough that I can hear it
I dunno, what'm I like?
I just found out today that my kidneys aren't doing so good........So not happy about that >.<
And I actually feel even more lethargic since I started the meds....And crook as a dog

Nah, while I'm awake...
But if I wake up in the middle of the night, I can if I want...
But I don't have the mental faculties if I'm half asleep to eat lol, I'd probably choke >.<
Especially since I snack on either raw veggies or nuts lol! |

Oh, Tani!!!
*gives a DELICIOUS box of sugar-free cookies*
I am not diabetic, but a ton of people in my family are. No worries, try to look at the bright side of it. Although there may be a down side to everything.... keep in mind there is always an up side!
Huggles! I hope you are feeling better!

Awww, thanks Sis!
*crams cookies in pockets*
It's weird....I can go without chocolate, cookies, or sweet things in general for months on end and it never bothered me. But now that I'm not supposed to have them...
3 guesses what I'm craving! >.<
Isin't life a pain like that? Grrr... |
