Heh, well you know how these things work, they would rather improve a site like VHR that has a minum to 27 players at any time, then i site with a average of 3 or 4 players at any time . |

there are 20 people online right now... If they did to SBF what they did to VHR, this place would be popular too |

Compared to VHR, the money SBF brings in is just a drop in the bucket. Yes, it would be fantastic to hire a team of coders to update the site, however, the money SBF brings in would probably only pay them for a couple hours of their time, not even enough to get familiar with the code already in place. Nef barely makes enough on all the games to pay the bills as it is. So, SBF is stuck with whatever time Nef and John can give it.
These forums are different that VP/VHR because they are linked with the game. You must have a game account in order to have a forum account and if you have a game account, you automatically have a forum account. So anything done on the forums involves codes within the game. It isn't like they can just download a new forum, transfer the info from the old and wala! forum update.
VP just got an update to their forums only because the new owners moved the game to a new server and COULD upgrade them. In VHR, the forums stand alone, you don't have to have an account to post on them.
VHR has a minimum of 20 people on at any time you look, day or night. Most times, like right now, there are in excess of 50 people on.. And they aren't the same people all the time, unlike with SBF, where it's approximately the same 20 or so players. There's a core of more than 100 regular players, all with at least one sponsor (paid), many with several.. That's just counting the ones active on the forums with more than 2K posts. That doesn't include players who buy sponsor accounts and dyes who are active, but haven't posted that much, who never post or those that haven't joined the forums.
I know Nef and John have been talking about updates for SBF, VHR2 and Legendera, however, these games combined don't bring in a tenth of the money VHR1 does, so from a business standpoint, it has to come first. In addition, John has been working elsewhere to make money to actually live on, so the time he can commit to the other games is very limited. |

Nef did just sell VP.. In order to sell something, you have to have a buyer. Selling VP allowed her to let one of the servers go, however, she also lost the income from VP at the same time. |

Ooh, I see. I'm afraid that we'll be the next sold if anything.
Like you said, SBF doesn't bring much in.
what if the new owners closed it down? Or banned roleplay?
we'd be in a much worse state.. o.o |

Nef isn't searching for buyers for any of the games. She wasn't searching for buyer's when the new owners approached her about selling VP. It just happened at the right time, for the right price. |

I'm probably one of the few that likes SBF just the way it is...
I inevitably quit VHR1 and VP....It was just too much to take on board every time I sat down to play. Too 'busy', not in sense of player volume, but in image, colour, movement...So hard to concentrate.
And while signatures would be alright....I'd find myself distracted by those, too >.< I like to get in and play, not sit around reading and reading and reading and never feeling on top of it... |
