Thanks Heather...
From what I can gather from my latest update, my mother thinks they want to remove his gall bladder...He's been there 10 hours already and there is still no clear answer as to what it is, and what they want to do...
Waiting is driving me crazy. I so want to be there, to at least keep him company and stop my mother from being so upset she gets sick >< |

oh wow..... i know i'm sorta late getting to this, but i will definitely be in prayer for your dad. i truly believe that God is able to heal him before the doctors even find out what is wrong! (yeah, i'm what they call a continuationist....look it up it you want ) my sister had a very scary situation 3 years ago where she was misdiagnosed twice and then finally she went to a different hospital and they told her she had a pulmonary embolism! (that's a blood clot in your lung in case anyone doesn't know) the doctor was seriously shocked that she was even still alive. but just remembering that whole situation, i know you have to be really scared and nervous right now. i'll be praying for you too |

Thanks Building
Wow...Your sister had her own angel too! Thats scary...
He wasn't allowed to eat or drink yesterday in case he had to have emergency surgery (they thought it was his appendix I've now been told) then he had an ultrasound and they thought it was gall stones...
Then he had to wait for a specialist who never showed up so at 9pm last night they finally let him have a liquid meal since he hadn't eaten in 24 hours, and he's been on an I.V all day yesterday and last night for fluids and stuff...
Specialist was supposedly coming this morning - Thats the last I've heard again. They want to remove the entire thing, but not until they get the go ahead from this person that (I hope has finally! >.<) was coming this morning because its severly inflamed...
He's been on morphine since he got in the ambo, so he's pretty much in la-la land so thats something...At least he can sleep. Its not looking like he'll be coming home until at least this time next week...I'm still so worried...
I really appreciate everyones kind thoughts...*cookies all round* |

thank god it wasnt something more serious, the appendix is not so abd, as long as it doesnt burst, and gall stones are alright, they just have to be removed or allowed to pass, which i hear is quite painful. |

They were going to try and break them up so he could pass them - The specialist that FINALLY arrived this afternoon said it was too risky so they will be removing his entire gall bladder...
Apparently you get on fine without it...
But if we don't really NEED it, why the heck is it there? Sheesh...
I'm completely convinced its thanks to the thoughts and prayers of you all that hes going to be ok....Thank you all, so very much |

yep, you do get on fine without it. my mom had hers removed a few years ago and nothing changed at all. some people say you have to really watch what you eat when you get it removed, but it doesn't seem to affect her. i will be praying that the surgery goes well and that his recovery is easy and not so painful. when will the surgery be? |

In a few hours...I'll be on tenterhooks till I hear....
But at least we know, and he's not dying and...
I'm all shaky with relief |
