Got my usual email news from Center for Biological Diversity (http://www.biologicaldiversity.org) and thought I'd share a couple of notes.

First is the Forest Service is considering major rollbacks of the protections they have for the Coronado National Forest in New Mexico and Arizona, also known as "Sky Island". This is a big deal considering they will be stripping all protections for many species that exist no where else.

The Southeast Freshwater Extinction Crises was interesting as it involves two of my beloved Salamanders, both of which exist here in SBF - the Mudpuppy and the Allegheny Alligator (aka hellbender). I also learned there is a mussel that apparently has some sort of synergistic relationship with the Mudpuppy. Hmmm...do we have a species for mussels?

LOL

Just sharin'

I had the opportunity to drive through the Gila National Forest in southern NM this week. It is really a beautiful place. You can see a few photos we took up there last year here:

There is also a movement to get the Rocky Mountain Fisher and the Pacific Fisher protected status. They are large relatives of the weasel. The Rocky Mountain species used to range in New Mexico. You know how I am about wanting my cyber ranch to be filled with the creatures our real ranch has or could find nearby...if I got a wild hair and added these Fishers under the Weasel species as...say Rares...would anyone want one?

They're here - here's the boys:

Now you folks who wanted one - first they are only rares so a foundy pair won't break ya and I don't mind at all. Otherwise, PM me for a baby - you can have one now or wait until they stat up. If you want I could also put the males at stud, there are a few more Rare weasel variations that if you have a female you could get the new Fishers that way.

You know me, you know I made them "only" rare so I could distribute them. Still for a while there won't be a lot of them around.

Trent - the Scottish Deerhounds are made, a End dog but there were only ever four of them, they are all in their 20s and belong to people who haven't taken a turn in years. I just saw where someone else wanted one in the "wanted" forum and I want one, too. To tell the truth, I couldn't care less about another AE wolf. Sorry.

As far as selling or trading tokens... about the only way I would do that is if you could offer me a non-sterile animal of one of the variations/colors I'm considering buying with tokens to get. I am not at home so I don't have my list. I have a long long list of things I want to make, as well as animals I want to change colors on or buy pressies for, and I need some new foundies of some of my own variations so... yeah, I'll really have to be tempted.
