So this is my first mane coloring. Please tell me how I could improve and such things. I will offer this up for bid, so start bidding, lowest at 1PC.
My sites are in my critique thread, but if I get complaints, I will post the sites up. |

It's really not bad for your first mane redo
However, it looks to stringy and unrealistic. What program do you use? |

I've been using GIMP. I can try it using my Paint Shop Pro 8 though. I'm not quite sure how to blend it. |

It's good for a first try If you ad in some shadows and highlights, it will help make it more realistic looking. Most horses' manes are kind of wavy, shadows will help you achieve that type of look. Also, if your horse is jumpng forward, the mane would be flying (flowing, waving, floating, whatever you call it, I'm having a brain fart ) back towards the horse's tail instead of towards the horses ears, which is how it looks right now.
Edited to add: Here's a link to my favorite mane tutorial
Part one
Part two
It uses greyscale coloring, but I use pretty much the same technique with color. If you look through that artist's gallery they have a lot of other great tutorials, Losmios is absolutely amazing. |
