Short answer? Because the coding doesn't allow for it.
Long answer? I'm not really sure, but it may be because it would be easy for someone to sell an animal which shows no offspring, but has been bred a number of times, the females just not turned.
For instance, if there was an AE up for sale for and it shows only three in game, you might buy it. At the same time, it was up for stud and a dozen people bred to it, offspring just hasn't been born. You buy the AE and realise a couple days later that the number has jumped to 20 and the majority are traced back to your animal. You most likely would not be happy, to say the least. |
