I am actually outraged by this, I don't understand how humans can do something so barbaric, stuff like this makes me ashamed to be a part of the human race sometimes.

That i shorrible and just as bad as Dog and Cock fighting exept they fight till teh deatha gainst each otehr and then if the loser dog or cock survives they brutally kill it by drowning,electricuting,hanging,shooting,etc.

My faith in humanity has long since been erased. I hate the human race as a whole, they are evil! Of course, there are the exceptions to this as this thread has shown, but in general I am thoroughly ashamed to call myself a human being.

I do not agree with many of these so called 'cultural traditions'. Dog fighting, cock fighting, fox hunting... and many many more that I probably don't even know of. How can people find enjoyment in watching a living thing suffer for no reason other than for amusement? A creature that was apparently (if you are a christian believer) created and placed on this earth by God himself? Loved as equals!

It sickens me to my stomach.

Let's hope that something can be done to help stop this barbaric display of humanity!

While this practice turns my stomach, I have a problem with the story. Slaughterhouses in the US have been illegal since 2007, so how did they take the horse to slaughter? Was it before then? If so, unless they are now shipping the horses over the border, it isn't being done as much as they say.
I'm sorry, but it sounds like a story changed or fabricated to get donations. The site seems very biased and is telling things that will get them money.

If you wish to help, I would recommend donating to the local SPCA or other animal protection agency with powers of law, as what they are doing is most likely considered animal cruelty and when found, will be dealt with legally. Or donate to a registered lobbying group. With your money going to people who can actually stop it, it's probably better spent that going to a small time operation with no power.

Alabama, I went back and checked and the posting date is March 16th, 2004. So yes the story itself is older but I'm sure these practices are still happening. I haven't even heard of this before this article so they must be keeping it low key.
