I also has lost my horse, Finn, this year on August 28th.
Somedays I feel like I went with him.
Somedays I am so numb that I can't feel anything.
It was so horrible.
I don't even know what to say.

He colicked. And my parents couldn't afford surgery.
I would have died for him if it meant he would live. I would have.
He was only seven.

This wasn't my cat, but my mother's stray tabby.
My mom had a cat named Emily, that she had had from the time she was fourteen. She had found the little tabby hiding in my grandpa's tire. She had her until she (my mom) was thirty-four, and Emily was a grand old seventeen.
Emily had been my mom's cat for nearly two decades, and she had gotten married and had a kid (me!), and then my brother. However, my brother is allergic to cats. We had to give Emily away, and we gave her to my dad's law partner and friend.
Four years later, after my sister was born and my grandpa's had died two years prior, my dad got a call. Emily had repeatedly tried to leave her new home, and during one of her attempts, she had hit the window and died.
My mom was heartbroken, and we cremated twenty-one year old Emily. |
