Grammar Nazi as quoted by draco from DC forums

I just can't stand people who can't type properly, especially when they know they can.

I'm sorry I have to rant on this, but I have seen increased sloppy writing on this site, as well as many others. This place isn't a texting site, you have the availability of all the keys on your keyboard!

People can't read:
Hye evry1, do u wnt 2 se my animls? There relly gud. Gt 2 go, by.

Even:
hi everyone ijust want to letyou knowthat i'm going on the 28th ofJanuary to the 14 thof February justhad to let u know anywayi have togo bye
Is not appropriate:

In the first the people can't spell, but use full stops and spaces. The next looks like they've typed it quickly, and there's nothing wrong with that, but adding commas (,) and full stops (.) can really help us read your post.

By writing:
Hey everyone! Do you want to see my animals? They're really good. I've got to go now, bye!

Or:
Hi everyone. I just want to let you know that I'm going on the 28th of January to the 14th of February. I Just had to let you know. Anyway, I have to go now. Bye!

See how much of a different it makes! There are some people on here who aren't that tolerant, especially in RP's or auctions, and when they can't read your writing, they become annoyed.

Anyway, sorry for my rant but I'm letting you know, because these supreme writing standards are slipping.

I'd also like to say there has been NO ONE that writes as bad as that, but there have been a few that have come close.

Thanks for reading all of this! *hands out cookies*

When I heard the word Grammar Nazi's, that is from Dragon Cave, fortunately you put credit! Hehe! Sigh, long as I can read it, I'm fine, but sometimes I get a little ticked when people do chat speak consistently. Me however, I slip up a fair number of times through I briefly go back to look at my posts to see any misspelled words or things I want changed! I am fairly okay I guess, but I think I have been really bad sometimes. Embarassed

I quite often get ht around the wrong way when I type rapidly. It's a bad habit because my word processor corrects it automatically for me, so I never learn.

I also someitmes alternate between American and Australian spellings.

Oh RZ I know. I have a few 'Yello' Angelfish at the moment.

I hate when people type badly like that. Sometimes I accidently forget a letter or not capitilize something but never on purpose! Or at least not on this site! Anyway, I think it's good that you brought this up.

It annoys me so much.

I don't know if they are lazy, or it's just a lack of education.

I too am a grammar nazi.

Not sure what's worse. Typing l33tspeak, or typing nicely but ruining it by throwing in big fancy words that you clearly don't know how to use.

Good grammar does not equal big, fancy words folks. Just so you know. You don't need a thesaurus to sound intelligent.

No, I'm not implying anything about the OP's post since I agree wholeheartedly with everything they've said. Some of the responses though... xD They made me giggle.

Wolfgirl, you don't mind if I give a small touch up on a post? Please tell me if you want me to remove it!

See how much of a change that made with a few tiny touch ups?

Maybe we should roster a project where newbies or people who find it hard to spell properly, can have a few elder 'experienced' player guide them?
