Ohhh, I know how he got that color...I think. You know how when you rescue an animal, you can get any raritys that either orbis created, or is rarity 7 or so. Maybe the same thing works with the baby animals here on sbf!

ALL of the traits show up on the animals parent's thingy. The recessive ones are when a dominant male and a recessive female mate, and the offspring are generally like that, a one in four chance the the baby will take the recessive trait. My family in rl is the opposite. my mom has blue eyes, and blonde hair, my dad has brown eyes and brown hair, all of their daughters including me are blonde with blue eyes, but my littlest sister has brown eyes.

Not all traits will show up on a parent, that's what recessive means.
When a dominant male is mated with a recessive female, all offspring show the dominant trait. That's its definition.

If a heterozygote (shows dominant but also carries recessive) mates with a recessive or another heterozygote, then some of the offspring will show the dominant trait and some will show the recessive.

Occasionally on this game, you will find a "recessive" trait - I have had it happen with stock of mine that could be traced back to several generations. Said individual turned out to be a rarer variation than either Endangered parent and inherited the breed type (variation) of an AE grandparent.

Although the genetics model here is very crude, it does occasionally surprise us... you got a rare treat!!!
