There are numerous End and AE animals that have been lost (died out) on the game because their creator has left. One in particular has only eight animals listed, all of them being five or more years older than their life span on the game. If their creator was to return, they would die when the first exam was taken. Their creator has not been on the game in well over 500 days.

How do you players feel about a new foundation pair of the same animal variation being created? Should it be one one rarity step down from what was originally created? (If it was originally created as AE should it now be End?)

I know some players on the game have strong feelings about creators rights and such, and so do I...to a point. I would just like some of the lost creations to be restored, and this is possibly a way to do it.

No flames or yelling please, just your yay or nay.

It's sad this this has happened, but I think this can also be linked back to the whole overbreeding situation in some ways. Because some players (and I speak for myself when I say this) have been burnt, they are reluctant to allow their creations to be distributed to others meaning that once the player has left there's no way of getting those creations back into circulation (unless they are endangered of course).

I fully support any decision you make regarding this, but I still think the issue of untrustworthy players will arise. Thats just my two pennies worth anyway XD

(oh and hi Rusty long time no see )

Id like to see certain animals return - I know Amanda is trying to keep certain animals active but she is not on much

again overbreeding IS a problem, but when you run animals counts it shows animals that are obviously overage, to inactive players. I'm not sure how you would get an accurate count of active AE's & End's

You can look up the animals on the marketplace link and enter the particular variation you want to check. If you know the life span of the animal, you can tell if they would die when the player does an exam by the age listed on a particular animal. You can also click on the owner and go to their farm, that will show how long it has been since they last took an exam. If a missing creator DOES come back they can always buy their creation back as a foundation pair for 500 tokens. They are the only ones that are able to do that though.

But some of those animals will be listed in the marketplace as much younger than they really are when you visit their page, due to an inactive player. You have to actually visit each animal or guess by their number.

I'm glad somebody else has noticed this...And I agree to a point...

There is the FSS, Amandas idea for the A/E's and I know I'm not the only person helping with that so its not really an issue when she can't get on every single day ( she works her butt off in rl AND here )

In terms of the endangered and threatened variations, Cosmos has been my wonderful partner with this pet project of mine, together we are buying foundation pairs of species that are no longer present in the game, or considered inactive as and when the token flow allows....I'm sure others could pair up and do the same? I say pairs, because its far simpler splitting the token difference and getting one half of the pair each, than it is to split the cost and then try to divvy up babies between a group...

Like you said Rusty, its very easy to look them up via the marketplace and work out wether they need 'saving' or not.........Personally if it belongs to two or more active players, ( even if the total number of animals is still low ) I consider it not under extreme threat and bypass it for something else...

I am also interested in the lower rarities ( anything up to exotic since the others can be rescued ) because they tend to be more neglected....I find it hilarious that there can be 100+ endangered variations, and NONE of the same species in a rarity 3-6....To me, thats worth having, if that makes sense?

I do have to say though that I'm firmly opposed to 'recreating' an A/E as an endangered variation..........Its sad that some A/E's have been lost, and yes I would love to get my hands on them.....But not at the cost of ruining someone elses idea. The Norwegian Forest cats, for example...A/E as NF and endangered as D*S NF..............And while I sound like a hypocrite for having both....Its not something I would ever personally condone someone doing. I would hate someone to recreate something of mine Sad

Its not exactly on subject, but whats everyones views on branding their new creations?

As some of you know...I now {VT-SA} brand my variations after a debacle where one player bought one of my variations as a foundation pair and then proceeded to breed/sell 50 offspring within the space of a month, insisting they were "her creation"....I managed to buy back most, but because of it, something very dear to me was ruined completely in terms of rarity within a very short space of time...And since I can't afford to make everything A/E...I now brand the variation as an absolute "this is mine".............I've found most people don't bother looking up the creator, this way its right there as a constant reminder....

I'm not the only player to have done this in the past....And I'll always continue to do it...

Just curious as to wether other players have had the same thought, and if so, why they don't brand?

I've found it decently helpful in terms of deterring overbreeding.....I mean its always going to happen...But it does help...

Sorry, I waffle and forget what my point was....

I know what you mean with the lesser rarities. I bought a pair of white footed and patial albino ferrets for that reason- they were just gone. Well, the partial albinos are 7.95 years old with an inactive player, so they might as well have been.

And the butterscotch colour was gone. I've got the onlyone now.

But I wouldn't brand any of my creations in their name. I just dont like the look of it. I haven't been burnt yet though.

Sighs, I myself have not been very good with helping, I'm very loose on many species and I breed quite a bit sometimes, I think I'm going to start releasing a few of my double ends of cats to help rarity them back and I think its great someone brought this up!

I co-created the Kiger Mustang, and we sold one to a player and she put it up for stud WITHOUT our permission and now the whole breed is way overpopulated and I don't have enough PC to save it. *sigh*
