i just downloaded GIMP and i cant seem to get the text to work could someone help me it says that Gimp 2.7 has stopped working and exits.

I use gimp, but unfortunatly I use 2.2 as I CANNOT get along with the other versions. It sounds to me like there's an error of sorts. If it was me I'd un install and try again. But I'm not brilliant with computer stuff so you may want to get a second opinion XD
