How interesting.

I'm in Florida, and where I am, there are a LOT of rednecks/hicks around these parts, hahaha. I actually have more of a northern accent, and I've noticed I pronounce things such as Atlanta ( In Georgia ) like Ad-lon-tah instead of At-lant-ah and I prounounce my eithers with a long 'i' instead of the long 'e'.

I mean, all my family is from New York, and it's just my generation that's been in Florida...so naturally all the kids pick up on northern quirks. I'm Greek and Italian however

IDK where it originated, but traditions like black-eyed peas for New Year's?

My aunt refers to us as 'turnips' which sounds really southern...which reminds me, you're supposed to say southern like it's written 'suthern' but I pronounce it like I would for 'northern'. 'south'-'ern' which always gains me a LOT of corrections and bizarre looks.

I just dgaf, lolz
