I just noticed, that you guys were being a little rude to my good friend ~Rose~ I hope I help this. I just read the first page so Idk if this is still goin on but anyways here I go

~Rose~: I COMPLETELY understand. When I was new I did somethin like this, and kholran was telling me I was a horrible person because I wanted to know why my rabbit kept eating her babies, and why they always got like frozen. Kholran told me I needed to be more responsible, when everything I read says your rabbit can handle raising its baby by itself so dont interfere. I did that and she kept eating them, i even tried bottle feeding them, flipping Daisy upside down, and sticking the babies on Daisy. Nothing worked so I gave up. Kholran told me that I needed to keep bottle feeding them, I didn't see the point tho because when I was seven my whole family "adopted" one of my rabbit's babies, and fed them every morning, afternoon, evening, and night... The babies did live, but a few were brain damaged, because they didn't get Sally's colostrum. The babies didn't live very long, because of brain damage, and they were in their hutch, and bobcats came and ate their feet and legs off. I remember the only one that lived was Gorgie, because he was smart and went on the little dog bed. (anyway... enough of my sad storys im gonna get to the point now) The point is, you shouldn't blame anybody for the tragities you've been through, many people experience the same thing. You buy a rabbit you love, want her to have babies, and she doesn't take care of them. there is always a rabbit that will not want to take care of the babies or just doesn't have the instinct. Or maybe your rabbit was too young. Daisy was a few months too young. we thought she was 6 months old when we called the breeder, and they said she was only 4 months. My Suggestion: maybe stop breeding for a while, till its warmer, or you could just keep your doe as a pet and go to a breeder or pet store and pick out a new doe. We were going to do that but we decided that breeding goats is good enough for now.
Good Luck!

Everybody Else: I don't see how having a rabbit that won't take care of it's babies shows bad ownership, since i have first-hand experienced it. I seriously don't see how that gives you guys a right to be mean to rose! You guys should be ashamed of yourselves (no offence but reading what you said to rose makes me cry because i know exactly how it feels). Try to put yourself in her place. shes probly already sad. do you have to leave such rude comments and make her even more upset? All she wanted was a little advice because she was being responsible. i know its not right to blame it on other people, but if she's a preteen/teen, like me then thats what we do. So Please STOP being so rude to rose.

Hope this helped,
Daes Crying or Very sad

Oh not again, I already said I was sorry and now your making me cry, I noe admit something myself, and please don't get on me, I'm even more guilty...I won't even stand up for myself, but here is a summary.

About a year to 2 years ago, my friend had unknowingly had a few babies gerbils and she needed to give some away, she entrusted them with me, I couldn't believe it. I started to research on BASIC gerbil care, I got two males, 2 brothers. About after a year, the great crises began... I was holding my smaller gerbil we "shorty", he hopped of my hand and started to head into the couch, Now I was afraid he would suffocate, I was 8 I believe , I stupidly grabbed his TAIL! I am now horrified at anyone who would do that once I learned my lesson, but he got away, but a peice of his tail came off, it had declubed, where the skin comes off, half of the skin on his tail was gone and it was muscle and bleeding. I shouted to myself "OH NO OH NO!!!!!!!!!", I was crying, I picked him up dearly, told my dad and got some toilet paper to wrap his poor tail in it, my dad was apalled of course but got my mother, she was horrified of normal rodents and this was more horrifying for her. I Begged them to take him to the vet and they refused a bit at first, but we finally got the surgury he needed and i said "THANK YOU!" quite loudly. I was the one who had stupidly grabbed his tail, It was my fault, I admit it, now you don't get on me! I am truly sorry ~Rose~ once again and should not have accused you of something when I have done something eqaully worse.

Cosmosxx, I thought that you were nicer than that. It wasn't anyones fault that they died because of any of these things or whatever. That is extremely insensitive. For example, how would you feel if you had some pets that you absolutily loved and adored, and one day a wild animal came and ate it? Or if you left it out in the barn because your parents wouldn't let it in the house, and in the middle of the night it got so cold that your animal froze to death? Or if you loved her so much that you always wanted a relative of her to love, so you bred her, and it turned out that either the animal wasn't a very good mother and tried to kill her babies, or they were born too early and couldn't survive. Then you posted all of those tragides on here, expecting support and hoping it would come, and then everyone says, "YOU KILL ANIMALS" and that those animals that you loved people kept screaming and hitting you where it hurts...the heart. If they were screaming that it was all of your fault, and that you can't afford this and that etc. Now do you understand that that is the MEANIST, NASTIEST, MOST HURTFUL things that you could ever say or do.

No animal of mine has ever been in a situation where a wild animal could kill it. If my parents told me I couldn't keep an animal in a place where it would be safe I wouldn't get the animal, and any animals of mine that have been pregnant have always had the best vetrinary care

This is going to escalate again.

Things have been said. Feelings have been hurt. Appologies were made.

That should be the end- don't keep opening up the arguement just because you feel like you must get your opinion out there.

We don't have any moderators. The best course of action would be to just let this thread go and fall to the bottom of the page.

Nothing can be said that hasn't already.

Let it go.

you're not getting my point. The thing is that nobody should ever be yelled at just because of things that were not their fault. I'm just saying what if all of this stuff were to happen, would you feel very good especially when people start yelling at you? No. I'm trying to make people see how it feels etc. By the way I don't really think that anyone would ever think that a cage isn't safe or that wild animals etc would harm them.

First I would like to say: Cosmo is 100% right!
Secondly: Liz also knows what she is talking about, I wouldn't be putting my animals at risk. If there were in risk, I would be selling them, to someone who could take care of them PROPERLY
Thirdly (<is that a word lol): Daisy get off my board. You are pathetic. Bobcats ate their feet and stuff off? Clearly it wasn't a babcat, because they would eat the whole dang rabbit and drag it somewhere not near your house, that is what they do. You & Rose are on the same boat. You should NOT have rabbits. You 2 clearly cannot take care of them :/

Why Rose made the stupid choise of posting what happened to her rabbits on my board is another thing. She should have known that she would be getting flamed and yelled at. The point is some people should NOT own animals. Evil or Very Mad

OK I volunteer at the Humane Society and I can tell you in no uncertain terms that Rose is guilty of neglect which is just as bad as abuse in my opinion. It's not just me telling you this it's the Humane Society

Maybe we should all back off from ~rose~ and Daisy, I think they have had MORE then enough of telling, I think they get the point. I'm going to back out of this propaly because well I just don't like to argue much, but I feel that maybe both sides should at least take a break for a bit. I'm not saying its right for ~Rose~ or Cosmosxx, I'm purely Neutral, PM me if you want to argue with me about what I have said. sorry if this is rude in any way.

I am being nice, to the ONLY innocent party in Rose's, and Daisys stories, which is the rabbits. They were wrong, their parents were wrong, but where do the rabbits fit in? They deserved better, thats all.

We as humans should know better.

I'm glad to see on this site, there are some of us who do, and who like me don't think cruelty should be tolerated.

The rest of you, who knows if there is hope.
