Breeder, I was certainly not implying that you were not caring for your rabbits. Nice advice.
The part about it not mattering if animals have died.
Domesticated pets may I add, not game, not vermin, but pets. |

I killed my first bunny, it was not intentional. I thought he could live off of eating hay, he died. The reasons behind this were that hay does not provide everything a rabbit needs to survive. It had virtually no fat content. He got skinny and died :/ I learnt my lessons.

I disagree. Good grass hay does provide everything a rabbit needs to survive - most of the rabbits we see in vet clinics are overweight from eating dodgy pellets/seed mixes. Those that are skinny usually have a dental problem, not a lack of fat.
Rabbits don't get skinny because they're not getting enough fat in their diet, they get skinny because they're not swallowing enough food. |

You know what I'm not going to defend my self here. Everyone thinks that I'm irrsponsible with animals, YET I'VE HELPED MY KITTY GIVE BIRTH! Reading all of these NASTY commonts have made me cry with how cruel they are. (I'm not talking about the people who defended me etc) Think about this people, I have quite a few females who dislike helping their purebred young, and sometimes their premature, or we were away etc. None of the deaths have been caused from malnutrition etc. I'm no longer posting on here. |

I know you weren't implying that Cosmo, no worries
Also the type of hay I was feeding my rabbit caused him to go skinny, it was the type. I researched it
That was over 6 years ago. I have now been breeding rabbits for 4 years! I love it, I have many show rabbits, that have done well. I have a French Angora & an English Angora that I will be showing next month, I think they will do quite well -crosses fingers-

Rabbits=animals+Rose= dead/pregnant rabbits= rabbits not cared for in a way that most would agree is humane.
No money=no vet=dead/pregnant animals= Not being cared for.
Does maths simplify it? |

Ferox - I disagree with you disagreeing... At the shelter, most of the bunnies that come in here are underweight because they just eat hay. The nutrients in hay alone don't cut it. They have to have a proper balance or else they are prone to dying.
Also, yes, I do agree with the dental issues = the cause of skinniness. My hamster came quite close to dying because his teeth got to long, and he refused to chew on anything. So, eventually, at the reccomendation of my vet, I carefully clipped them with nail clippers. |

He did not have dental issues, it was just because of his hay diet. It was also winter time, which he needed the extra fat for body heat and stuff to keep him going. I feel terrible but I did not know what I was doing.
I'm now a responsible breeder, I have done my research and my animals are in top condition and care |
