I just lost my mini schnauzer 3 days ago! The longest she been missing (before this) is 1 night, in December! It had been snowing all night! Some one in the neighborhood found her in the morning. Back to now. She has been missing 3 or 4 days! Please help! She was in heat and she's only a puppy so we don't want her to get pregnant!! She is 1 1/2 years old. If you've ever lost a pet please tell me what you do! We put missing posters some places, but no no has seen her!!

That's not good. I got bit really hard in the side of my arm by horse. I went to take down the cinch, and the mare, recoiled(I think) and bit me hard. It bruised as soon as she bit me. Even worse, was it was in the middle of a camp I was helping with.

Tom got his feet trimmed last week and is still feeling tender as of this morning. He got some Bute mixed in with his feed and hopefully that'll help until his feet toughen back up. If not I may have to have him reshod, this is the first time he has gone barefoot all Summer and it's been a wet one which isn't helping him. He's probably ticked at me because I didn't take him to the show yesterday since he was so tender footed. Normally that wouldn't bother him, but I took Prince instead of him and, as I've said before, I'm sure they are jealous of any attention the others gets.

On a much happier note, Prince did awesome considering the circumstances. Not long after we got to the show grounds it started to rain and the show had to be moved to the indoor arena which is small and meant for cow and pig shows so not really good footing for horses. The last time I had him in that arena was five years ago at what would have been his first show if he hadn't decided that he wasn't going to leave the center of the arena and spun and popped up if you tried making him move because the fans set up to blow into the arena might eat him if he got too close so he had to be scratched from that show for safety reasons. This time around he gave the fans funny looks and he had some near blow-ups during warm-up time, but was surprisingly well behaved for him and was one of the best acting horses when the rain started coming down hard on the tin roof in the middle of a class.

Prince picked up a fourth in adult showmanship out of five and a fifth in adult WP out of six and, most surprising of all, he took first in reining out of at least five other entries. He's almost got enough speed on his spin now after working on it on and off for the last few months. The guy that saddle broke him was there with one of his horses and said Prince was looking good. His owner has been bragging on him to anyone that showed up at the farm today. I confused Prince greatly in flags since they changed it to a figure eight pattern and I've only ever practiced a triangle pattern flag using the barrel racing setup with him, but once he got it he had it good. He broke the timer on barrels, but all the speed classes were tricky since the arena wasn't big enough to put the barrels the regulation distance from the timer. I'm just happy he agreed to even turn the first two barrels since they were set up right in front of the evil attack fans. And for the first time he ran the pole pattern at speed. My silly, spazz-tastic boy is slowly but surely getting there.

Gunner is lame. Again....we think our farrier cut him too short. First he had a hot nail. Now, we're not sure what's going on. I won't be able to ride him for a week at least.

This is a thread about real pets. There is a box on any animal that the owner hasn't blocked bids on where you can type in how much you want to bid and submit it so the animal's owner can decide if they want to sell you the animal.

I've got you beat on hoof problems apparently, and unfortunately. Until the farrier is back in town Tom has make-shift foam pads duct taped to his front hooves and he's going to have to get x-rayed so the farrier will know what angle to trim him at. The Cushings scare we had with him a couple months ago seems to be a reality this time and is probably what is causing the problem according to the vet's first impressions. I still need to research into it more so I'm not going into things blind.

Today the event that had been a long time in coming finally happened. After five years of not so much as coming close I finally got tossed off a horse again. Prince got me good and it was funny enough to laugh at after I managed to find my glasses in the weeds that, luckily, survived being flung around. I was being lazy and riding bareback, it was just too hot to haul a hunk of leather out. We were cantering along when he decides it's a great time to stop and I ended up a little off balance which would have been fine if he hadn't immediately started spinning in circles. I ended up all the way on his neck and hanging off one side before he finally got me off all the way and he thought he was slick and going to get away, but I still had the reins and had landed on my feet. In hindsight, If I had just let go of the reins once I was off I wouldn't have the rope burn I have now and I could have just hunted him down. If I wasn't so proud of how well he executed the unwanted spinning I'd probably be regretting teaching him it at all. At least I'm not going to have a scar this time and I'm hopefully set for another five years of no falls.
