I lost my little puppy like 4 or 5 days ago.
Me and my family have tried everything, put posters every where, put an ad on ksl and other websites, and all that stuff.
I was wondering what you do if you've lost a dog.
PLEASE HELP!!! |

posters around the house & neighborhood, especially with pictures
offer a reward
contact ALL area humane societys, animla control, rescues.. You will probably have to GO to them as many of them cant tell you if they actually have your dog (since many of them cant tell one breed from another or even a true feral cat from one thats scared to death-please no arguments-I know what im talking about)
check with all area vets, drop off flyers
possibly someone took your puppy, especially if it was cute/small - what was it?
this is hard but check the side of the road- if he was hit by a car he may be in the overgrowth. depending on where you are animal control may be able to tell you if they picked up a body
its probably too late or too expensive but there are people with tracking dogs-if it hasnt rained they may be able to find up but it is really best withing the first day or so
post on Craigs List, some areas have yahoo groups devoted to pets
knock on doors asking if anyone has seen themm- someone may have him thinking hes lost, or saw someone pick him up
My girl Dache was stolen 3 years ago-i have not given up

I did posters with pictures and call the pound every day
And ya, we did think about the possibility that some one took her, , she was small, white, and cute. she is a mini schnauzer. But doesn't have the schnauzer hair cut.
Thanks. |

I found someone's dog a long time ago.. a pitbull, with a spiked collar, about 2-3 years old. I couldn't just leave him on the street when I saw him and walked him by the collar (hurting my back and drawing tons of attention in the process.) until someone asked what was up.
She happened to be a family friend and we found his owner within the next hour, and by the next day he was sent home. Never saw the sweetie again and never got a thank you.
I really hope someone finds your puppy. The only animal i've lost are my pet rats. When they get out of their cage, it's a pain to find them again and make sure they don't get stepped on or get into the wires and get hurt. So I can't really help you when it comes to getting lost outside of the house... except things you've already done.
The only advice I have is to look everywhere you can and places you go often. That's what I do when they get loose. |

Sorry about you lil girl hun, I've got my fingers crossed for her safe return
Is she micro-chipped? That really is one of the best ways to relocate a lost animal because any shelter/vet/etc that picks them up automatically scans them and will contact you...
I don't know if you have to where you are, but over here ( N.Z ) by law you must register your dogs...So knowing the reggo number helps too, especially if they get picked up by the ranger etc...
Other than doing a flyer drop ( I'd start with about a 5km radius around your house first ), calling ALL shelters/vets/etc in your area, the next thing you can do is to widen the search....Start calling out-of-area shelters etc.....If she simply got out, you'd be amazed how far they can wander, likewise vets etc in case someone brings her in...
Also try lost and found categories of pet related websites, sometimes people post if they find a pet, and it also alerts anyone reading to be on the lookout...
If someone stole her...You might not get her back My beautiful mutt Sasha ( blue heeler/labrador cross ) was stolen from my yard and I was absolutely frantic for 2 weeks....And then I got a call from animal managment that they had a dog fitting her description in the freezer ( its common practise for them to store animals while trying to locate owners ).....She had been picked up from the side of the road, with injuries consistent with being thrown from a car at speed, and had died there...
My heart broke and even though it was several years before I could bring myself to get another dog, I still cry over it sometimes
I really, really hope you get her back safe and sound hun... |

Hi, have you ever heard of the website kijiji.com? Well, it's a website where you can post adds for free. You can put animals for sale, looking for or lost. It's free as long as you sign up. You only need a email address, and a picture is recommended. I got rid of my free kittens in just a few days. I hope that it helps. It goes by the state, and city. Good luck finding your puppy. |

Thats great miki!
I remember when my cat ran away. She was gone for four days and when she came back she had a huge cheek that was apparently bitten by a rattlesnake. She survived though, we just had to give her lots of TLC for a good few months. |

I know 6 days sounds like nothing compared to most people, but she is just my favorite dog in the whole world. When we got to the county animal shelter yesterday my brother and I had to stay up front while my mom went somewhere on the back. My mom said the second my dog saw her Ginger (my dog) started shaking like crazy. Then my mom had to come up front to do some paper work. She said as soon as she left Ginger started whining and whimpering. It took my mom and I an hour and a half to cut the fox tails and stickers away from her fur. Lol. We got her micro-chipped for only10 bucks.(My mom said it was because of the circumstances.) In all it cost 77$ to get her back, but we expected it to like 100$ so yeah... She is sitting in my lap right now. |
