I like fantasy books. For some reason I didn't like Fable Haven that much. I just finished the 6th Harry Potter book. I've read the sixth one like two times but the second one four or five. I was wondering if there are any good fantasy books for an eleven year old. I tried reading The Dark Is Rising but I didn't like that much. If you have read any good fantasy book that you like please post them.

Have you ever read Ink Heart? I've never read it as I'm not so much into fantasy, but my friends have read it and said that it was a good book!

My friend has read that, I think. I'll see if I can borrow it. Thanks!

Well, there's always the Twilight Saga, or maybe the Deltora Quest Series...?

Warriors series, and anything by Tamora Pierce. I also like the Seekers series.

Some of Mercedes Lackey's, starting with the Arrows of the Queen- and I LOVE the Obsidian Trilogy but it might be a little old, even with the main character in his med-teens

The Harper Hall series by Anne McCaffrey - Dragons, big & little!

I cant get to my main bookshelves right now, but have you read the Chronicles of Narnia, The Hobbit, and Eregon?

Andre Norton = a lot of her juveniles should be at the library

Twilight is always good, there's another series similar called House of Night (but - werewolves.) Redwall is fanastic and so a series of books by Chris D'Lacey about dragons which was great. The first book is the Fire Within. Also a wicca themed 'Sweep' series by Cate Tiernan too.

The Edge Chronicles are really good. I think the first book is called Beyond the Deep Woods. They are written by Chris Riddell and Paul Stewart.

Another good book is The Great Good Thing though I think you have to have a certain taste for that book but otherwise it's pretty good.

and The Books of Bayern by Shannon Hale are good. The first book is The Goose Girl. Oh and another book by her The Princess Academy

And (this is the last suggestion) Very Happy Books by N.E. Bode are really good too
one of the books by him is The Anybodies, that's in a series and a non-series book is The Slippery Map.

Hope this helps!! ~Lorre

If you like sci-fi/fantasy sort of genre, I'd highly recommend The Obernewtyn Chroncicles by Isobelle Carmody...I'm an adult but I found it highly enjoyable and its an ongoing series ( next book comes out this year, I think...) Actually, I recommend anything by I.C lol...

If you like fantasy blended with nuggets of real life history, I'd recommend The Chronicles of Ancient Darkness by Michelle Paver ( also an ongoing series ) which is very good, its sort of like the Clan of the Cave Bear series but geared more towards young adults ( Jean M Auel is also a very good author )

And just because I love him, anything by Gary Paulsen...His fiction AND non-fiction is fantastic if you're a fan of the wilderness, dog-sledding, survival etc etc....

I'll be quiet now Embarassed

Look into T.A. Barron. He's my favorite writer, and he writes fantasy for the younger crowd.. primarily.

I used to read his books alot but don't much anymore.

Read the "House of Night" series by P. C. Cast and her daughter... They're kinda parallel to the Twilight sage, but they don't really use any of the same concepts. They also target an older group - so you might not like some of what is in it!
