I've enjoyed my place on the top of the "Top Players" lists for long enough, and I feel it's time to travel in a new direction.
As many of you know, there have been a lot of longtime players leaving for one reason or another, and with them (as I stated on another LONG post), many of their creations have been lost. Thankfully, many of them are retrievable, as they can be purchased with tokens, and bred RESPONSIBLY so they don't disppear forever; the Almost Extinct creations of these people are irreplaceable like their creations. I will be using the resources of my farm to try to prevent to loss of any more variations, colors, and details that are in jeopardy of permanent extinction due to the loss of their creators.
Aljan Farms can now be known as the Foundation Stock Service, and my mission is not only to save animals from the brink of extinction, but, through an organized breeding program, to establish several unrelated "lines" of stock. It may appear that there will be a spike in breeding on my farm, which may alarm some players, and to help identify the animals that are part of this program, they will be branded as such:
FSS (creator's brand) (animal's name) of (participating farm's brand)
For example: FSS Slate of Aljan
This will be a long process, as I may have to obtain stock in addition to the rare individuals that I already have and breed them successfully over several generations with totally unrelated stock. Because of the time involved with this, I will be selling ALL of the animals that don't directly benefit my new endeavor. Not wanting to overpopulate and lessen the value of the animals that I'm working with, I will retire most if not all of the uneeded or surplus animals produced in my program.
If anyone has questions or concerns, I enourage people to speak up. I didn't want anyone seeing a spike in certain aspects of my breeding programmes and worrying about it.

Thanks, Daisy and keema!
In the future, I'll be seeking out really, really rare species and, with some luck, I might be able to gain some of them as breeding stock. I'm currently worried about the state of three particular wolves, the Pagan and Maned (Jinxx's), also the Himalayan and Spirit (luckily, this creator is still playing). Sadly, the White, Shadow, and Mackenzie Valley wolves disappeared before I realized they were in danger.
Just recently, I was able to bring the Keeshond dog and the Pigmy Rabbit from almost certain extinction - let's all keep our eyes out so we don't have to lose any more AE's.
If ANY of you know about an AE that is in danger of disppearing forever, if there are only a handful left in the game and the creator doesn't appear to be playing anymore, let me know!

Ditto!
I love to do anything possible for the sbf community, every1 is soooo nice. I don't think anybody has been mean to me for no reason, thats why i LOVE sbf, most boards like this they all r sooo mean to people if they don't know something, and the admins and mods r nice too, i just wish they'd pay more attention to sbf. |

Sadly, Ocicats are one of the variations that have gone extinct on the game - they're a perfect example of what I'm trying to stop on SBF!

Is there no way admin could intervene? It's not fair that these players who created them put all those tokens in, and now theres nothing to show on the game for it. |

There's been some discussion about reviving these animals, but I'm not sure a solution was ever reached. Kind of sad, no? I'd tried to obtain an Ocicat about 3 years ago when they were created, but unfortunately, I didn't keep enquiring.
:::sigh::: I guess everyone's got something they'd do over if they could, eh?
I'm really pleased to see an open dialog about this with long-time and newer players alike: just like responsible pet ownership IRL, education is the ONLY way to affect worthwhile change that lasts, so to those who are reading and participating in this thread, there's hope!

is there any way to email people who are no longer playing and get them to come back long enough to 'revive" the animals? |

Thats an idea RZ.... I wonder how many would be willing with no incentive, I mean they must have left for some reason, I would come back and help if I had left....I bet some of the big names have created a few AE's... so it would be easy to knock a few creations out with minimal player gathering...
Even if they would come back, just log in a couple of times... we could gather tokens, and ask them to import the AE's for this program....
We should see who here keeps in touch with players that have left who created AE's....
I babble..... |

Amanda, I count 8 Dobermann's in the game, and it looks like the creator hasnt been around for about 6 months. The youngest is 7.45
Youve got 3, Vitani and mash 1, and the other player dosnt appear to be active |

If anyone plays VHR and VP regularly you could check on there to see if any creators have moved over. I know of a couple cases were people have come over only to quit or decide they like those games better. |
