In less than a couple weeks, I am going to my first AKC Obedience Trial with Clover (Rukmini Red Clover CGC). It's a two day event, but we are going down for three days to practice before the actual show. We have been practicing like crazy all this month. I am just so excited! For those of you who don't know, Clover is my Golden Retriever that is 17 months old.

I was also wondering if anyone else does this kind of thing with their pets?

This is Clover in her "CowDog" hat. =)

This is her swimming in a lake.

This is Clover in her bed.

RZ- That should be the way it always is. Health before sport. =)

Sleek- So you show in Conformation? What breed?

DrmChaser- Thank you! From the ones that are up there, it's my favorite, too.

Aw, she's adorable! Yep, I try to do stuff like this with my Golden, Lilly, who just turned 3 this month. We like to train for agility, mostly just open jumping, but we also enjoy running full courses. And I just can't keep her out of the water, lol!

Tell me how it goes!

Although I'm not in a financial place to show at the time, I used to compete in the following events:

AKC:
Conformation
Obedience
Agility
Hunt Tests
Tracking

WCA (Weimaraner Club of America - AKC sanctioned)
Shooting Dog (upland game hunting)
Retrieving Dog (waterfowl hunting)

I miss working with my dogs in a competitve forum... sure hope the economy improves and I can get back out there in the dog world again. :::sigh::: Crying or Very sad

Wow Amanda, I didn't know you were that active in the dog world! I completely understand the economic thing. I'm having to move because of it. I've had to cut back on many things, but my dogs will be the last thing I will cut back on. =)
