Has anyone read inkheart?.?i have and it is so kool!.!i love it i am trying to get my friends to read it but they saddly won't and i think all of you out there should read it!it is sooooo good!!!!!!  |

I haven't read it but I've seen the movie. I thought the movie was way good, so i think I will go buy the book and read it as well.  |

I've read the book. It was several years ago, though, so I don't remember it too well, but I know I enjoyed it. I didn't know there was a movie made, though. I just looked it up and it won't be in cinemas here until early April, so that might be why.
Have you read the two sequels? |

| I've read it (and the first sequel, I don't remember its name) and loved it! It was a long time ago though, so I don't remember all of the details, but I remember it was amazing. Gave me a whole new world to daydream about *sigh* I love that book. I've decided to not see the movie, I want it to stay in my head how I imagined it and not get replaced by some stupid actors and cgi. I'm really weird about that though, I refuse to see a movie if I loved the book. |

I'm the same. I've long since stopped watching Harry Potter. I'm just sick of seeing them butcher those books, especially considering how much they rewrite or leave out entirely.
I only know of two movies that were almost as good as or better than their book counterparts. One was Terry Pratchett's Hogfather which I found really accurately portrayed the book and displayed the characters almost exactly as I imagined them. The other was The daVinci Code but that was only because the book was so shockingly bad that it wouldn't require much effort to make the movie better than the book. I actually found it to be a fairly decent movie. Not great, but still good. |

 Vitani it's a fantasy book by Cornelia Funke. I'd tell you the basic story line but I don't feel up to typing that much.. |

I hated all of the HP movies too, they got all of the characters wrong (except Hagrid, they were pretty much bang on with him) and they changed way to many things. (like Dumbledor, he was my favorite character and they completely butchered him  )
I think the only movies that I've actually liked have been the long version of Pride and Prejudice and the Narnia ones. The P&P movie followed the book near exactly, which I guess is the reason it's like 5 hours long lol. Some of the characters looked differently than I imagined them, but the book never really described how they looked so I was ok with that. In the Narnia movies they changed some things (all of Prince Caspian was completly different looking in my mind), but for some reason I can seperate them from the books in my head so I'm not really bothered by it.

You're right, Hagrid was about the only character the movies got right. I still thought there were a few discrepancies between the book and movie versions though.
I enjoyed the Narnia movies as well, although that's probably because I was quite young when I read the books, so like you I was able to separate out the two in my mind. I thought The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe was done really well. With Prince Caspian, I think I actually got it confused with The Horse And His Boy, so the movie had no resemblance to what I was expecting, which allowed me to just sit back and enjoy it as a movie.
I've heard the movie Stardust is one of those where you either love it or hate it. My understanding is that if you've read the book you'll despise it, but if you haven't, it's a really great movie. I haven't read the book, and I found it to be absolutely fantastic. Something I'd watch multiple times.
I've also heard Twilight is the same. I haven't read the books yet, and I asked a friend who had and she said that she was disappointed in the movie after reading the book, so she recommended I see the movie first. |

| I've read the book, but the movie sounds interesting. It looks though like they've made Mo more braver than in the book, thus butchering that character. Quite sad... |
