I want to be a responsible breeder

I'm a newbie and want to make sure I'm being a responsible breeder. Can someone explain the "Do's and Don'ts" to make sure I'm breeding properly? Starting from rescues doesn't give you high levels of color and variations, so I'm trying to interbreed them with studding and get higher levels. Most of them, of course, come out pretty common so I'm keeping some of those common ones hoping their rare traits will come out in later offspring. Is that ok? Will it ever happen?

Almost all "Endangered" and "Threatened" animals were created by players using real money. If you buy an Endangered or Threatened variation or colour, it is polite to avoid putting them up for stud or selling their offspring for profit. The more there are, the less they're worth. You can also check to see who created a certain variation by going to the Species Details list and clicking on the species name. Beside each variation and colour, it will say "Created by player _____". If there is no creator, then it was made by Orbis Games. While these should also be kept rare, no one person paid real money to create them, so selling/studding them is not AS big a deal.
