1) Burning to death I am actually sssooo afraid of that. I think that would be the worst way to die. I get really really sketchy when I smell smoke. Especially when I'm driving. Just a few months ago a friend of mine got out of his truck and it blew up. Like not even joking you, he lost everything that was in it; the engine just exploded and the whole truck was engulfed in flames, the tires melted to the driveway. And RIGHT after he got out! We have pictures and everything!
2) Losing my grandparents. My grandparents pretty much raised me, and I know they're getting older. It would honestly kill me to watch them in a home getting frail and sick and having them forget me..To have them die..would just..I dunno I cant even talk about it.
Other little things that freak me out are things under me when I'm swimming...like touching seaweed and stuff. And when I go snorkeling and see huge trees and rocks under the water in the gloom. I live in Hope and theres this lake called Lake of the Woods. Its one of the deepest lakes in BC and people say its cursed because someone dies every year in it by simply drowning. You're not allowed any kind of motor in the lake and its not even very big, people just...drown in it for some reason. One of the saddest stories is about a boy and his dad who went canoeing with thier dog. The canoe tipped over and they all fell out. The dog started to panic and drowned them trying to get on top of them, and the wife was watching from the shore. The police found the dad hugging his son at the bottom of the lake...Theres this woman who is a friend of the family who fresh water scuba dives and she says this lake is the most intriguing one shes ever seen, at the bottom the trees are ancient and MASSIVE. Theres also a pink bug (like the car) and two huge goldfish lol. I guess someone let them go and they lived and now they're gigantic! But yea, that lake has so many stories. Its really beautiful but still so creepy..I was really wanting to get into scuba diving and I was talking with a man from my old job and he says HIS favourite lake to dive in is this lake in Powell River BC, because there is a whole forest under water. When they built the dam they flooded the valley, so you can actually swim through the forest. I think that would be so awesome, but it would totally scare me
One other thing that might surprise you is HORSES. Even though I ride and draw and love them in general, horses have always triggered huge anxiety in me, to the point of hyperventilating even. A severe attack is rare but my heart always races when I'm on the ground with them. Once I get on, I'm totally fine. Its very very weird. I dunno how many times my coach has had to get out the brown paper bag and give me my pills before a lesson! I'm thinking its a past life issue or something |

Snakes
Dark Closet/open doors, all doors must be close when I go to bed. Can't sleep with an open door. The darkness in the closet scares me.
Dark mirrors, as in mirrors at night.
Also a little bit of afarid of heights, gotta have something solid to hold on to.
Big dogs, mainly Dobermans. Childhood trama. |

I actually have a phobia of roller-coasters and anything relatively fast like that. This can include anything but the most tame of waterslides and showrides, and even just driving in the car under some circumstances. When mum was seven and a half months pregnant with me she went on a roller-coaster (this is before it was compulsory to put up those signs saying "Pregnant women should not ride this attraction") so my phobia all stems from that. Thanks, Mum.
Living in Australia I live in or near environments that contain a lot of pretty dangerous creatures, so I can get pretty worried if there's a perceivable threat from one of them. Spiders terrify me if they're currently crawling up my arm, but otherwise I find them fascinating and they don't bother me at all. When I go swimming at the beach in deep water shadows or seaweed on the bottom that I can't immediately identify can get me pretty anxious since we regularly get sharks off our beaches. Great Whites are common. We're lucky that we're far enough south that we don't get the big salties (salt water crocs) or the really big jellyfish that can kill people (we just get the little ones that make you go crying for the vinegar, but that's it). Unfortunately the whole global warming thing is heating up the oceans so all those really deadly tropical nasties are starting to head further south.
Public speaking used to scare me as much as roller-coasters (which is saying something), but I managed to completely cure myself of that when I got to uni. The funny thing is that I went from one extreme to the other, so I'm now really good at public speaking. (If anyone else has the same fear I'm happy to offer some tips to improve your skill, just message me.) |

I have some really strange fears, most of them are totally irrational too lol
My fears:
big crowds- they make me feel trapped, I'm definatly no city girl
garden gnomes- they gave me nightmares as a child
carbon monoxide/poisonous gas killing me with out me even realising it
skinny mustaches (one of my friends loves to freak me out when he grows one, he'll stand right behind me and make me totally flip out. Jerkface >:/)
zombies- they haunt my nightmares, I'm terified one will eat me
big grasshoppers- one jumped on my face once when I was little, now I can't stand them. I'm toatally fine with little ones though.
Yep, Queso's a total weirdo lol |

Omg purple im actually so afraid of furbies too! i forgot about those
Misty I always thought it would be intense living in Australia, with so many deadly things around everyday! I'm not sure if I would ever get used to that. I have a friend that visits aussie often and she says it can be hazardous being from BC and going over there because you dont use the same kind of caution that you probably should, seeing as we have very few poisonous things and certainly no great whites! We do get lion jellies though, they're always washing up on shore and apparently, like you mentioned global warming, they're re-producing in HUGE numbers that we've never seen before. But thats about it!
Speaking of BC wildlife though, another thing I'm terrified of is Grizzlies. Or any kind of bear for that matter. My first encounter with a live one was when I was out working in the bush in october and a big black bear ran out not 10 feet away from me, I was so scared I couldnt even move, just froze and watched with my mouth hanging open until it dissapeared into the woods. I was back in my truck so fast!!! My dads buddy shot a grizzlie 14 feet high standing on its hind legs just a few weeks ago. 14 feet high!!! My ceiling is 8 feet. I would share more but the story is pretty ugly for SBF...anyways lol, THAT would be scary. |
