Thanks, it was fun having an excuse to goof off with the plastic ponies again.

Haha, I know Smile I love them so much. My mom says that I really should get rid of my Breyers, but I would never! I tell her that you are never too old to have them (I'm only 14, though) and she just rolled her eyes Rolling Eyes But, I love them and they are so fun to collect, I would never. This was a great excuse, you're right.

I know there's lots of people a lot older than you that still have them. Heck, I'm 40-something ( Razz ) and still buy, photo show, and BREED them. Laughing

I'm with EDZ. There's no such thing as being too old for model horses. Personally, I'm guilty of hanging on to and still collecting my little ponies on the side and I've past twenty right up, though I think my dad is still under the delusion that I'll grow out of it all eventually.

I've only got 2 MLPs that I got in a mixed toy lot I bought. One is kinda dirty with its glittery mane all tangled and the other is a large orange plastic one with a broken leg. Still have the leg, just never got around to gluing it back on. LOL, would you be interested, Mute?

Breeding models is actually simpler than breeding real horses, lol. You can do it in one of two ways. You can breed model to model or research out real pedigrees. If you go into Yahoo Groups, check out the IPABRA group. Many of their members have Sire/Dam lists, like I do. You can also mix up real and model pedigrees, like have the sire be a real horse and the Dam be a model. If you want the Dam to be real, most breeders go for the realism of checking her progeny years and use one that she wasn't bred or maybe slipped a foal. I have been researching real horse pedigrees for several years. I have a Saddlebred model whose pedigree I've traced clean back to the original Justin Morgan. Surprised) It may seem complicated, but you get the hang of it easily.

Wow, it acutally does seem pretty simple. So am I able to make pedigrees for my own horses, and do they have to be CM models, or can they be OF? This is really interesting.

I work on pedigree for all of my toy/model horses (There is a difference considered between toys and models amongst serious collectors, lol.)

None of mine have ever had pedigrees unless they are portraits of a real horse and sort of come with one by default. But it does sound interesting, if I can remember the next time I'm in the same place as the herd I might look into pedigrees.

Yeah, I'd be interested in both. I had wanted to try out some pony torture a while back and they sound like perfect candidates for some plastic surgery.
